Session 22: Battle in the Ruins Report

General Summary

The Dark Hand invited Asteria, Brightest Flame of Ingsta to preside over the fight. She promised no interference on her part, she was only there to insure that no one died outright. Accompanying her was a dark, copper skinned elven woman with almost fully copper metallic eyes and dark bronze colored hair. She wore no armor but was wearing a dark rust colored set of robes and had a sword on either hip. Thalos was not happy with the additional people and questioned their arrival, paranoid about a possible trap or ambush. Asteria assured him that neither of them would interfere with the proceedings other than to make sure no one died. Eventually, the groups got down to the actual fighting. The battle was close with Talen going down early but The Dark Hand plus one was defeated. They informed the group that they had already delivered the wand to their contact and had been paid for completing the job. Sway also informed the party that the wand was a Wand of Wild Magic, and while that didn't mean much to the party, Talen seemed troubled by the implications of Imoen gaining control of the wand. The Dark Hand also gave the party a number of magic items and offered to set up a meeting for the group with their contact. Pen, the one member of the Sons of Mourning, also asked if the party would be interested in setting up a time to fight against them as well. But not until after the group had finished their current mission. The idea of going to brunch was floated and the group started to gather themselves to head back into White Haven.
