Session 19: Adventures in White Haven Report

General Summary

The party continued to explore the city. Cloud found a local bakery by the name of The Cake is Pie, and a very happy human woman named Bethany who was happy to make something with the Good Berries provided by Cloud. They went to go find someone to give them magical Tattoos and met Sheridan, a gnomish woman with bright purple hair who could do it, but they didn't have the money for them. Talen went and spoke with a few members of the Actinium about Imoen and found out some very interesting things. She was a savant of a sort. She could see and manipulate the stream and flow of magic that suffuses the world. She didn't need to know spells in order to cast them and she didn't need any kind of focus. She was incredibly powerful, but still acted like a child much of the time. The Actinium had decided that in order to teach her, she needed her powers to be suppressed so they devised a necklace for her based on a item they already had, shackles and bracelets that cut off a spell casters access to magic. It didn't suppress her powers completely, but it made it much safer for everyone involved. They didn't know where she was as all attempts at scrying, sending or otherwise locating her had failed. The city guard had looked for a while but they couldn't spare to many people to find a missing girl that there was no sign of. They were sure that The Brotherhood was behind the kidnapping which was confirmed by Talen telling them of her father receiving a ransom note. The group decided that they needed to talk to Capt. V so went to The Forked Tongue and invited her and some of her friends to brunch at The Curly Mustache, a local hipster bar with bottomless mimosas. Capt. V asked a few questions but ultimately agreed to put them in touch with her contact within The Brotherhood. They were to return to The Forked Tongue that night and the contact would be there. The group paid for brunch after meeting even more people and went to find somewhere to get into a fight for money. The Temple of The Way was just such a place and after talking with the organizer of the fighting there, they were put into a 4v4 match up against the very women they had just had brunch with. Ivo, Tana, Sway and Vane, also known as The Dark Hand, did not fare well in the fight against the party. After only a few rounds of fighting the match was over and the party a little bit richer. At the end of it though, Talen quickly moved into the crowd and away from the fighting arena, without a word to the rest of his companions.   The Brotherhood awaits them. Will they be able to find Imoen? How dangerous is she really? Will the group continue to fight for money?
