Chapter 58: Fey Don't Play or Do They?

General Summary

Date: 22nd to 23rd of Uktar, 1491 DR

The idyllic and peaceful village of Phandalin greeted the heroes as they ventured through the teleportation circle. As they climbed up the hill to the Good Place inn, the adventurers split to their own ways before respite.    Ranvas climbed down to wake up Wiri Fleagol who had been working hard crafting new type of ammunitions for Ranvas. She asked some more capital which she could use to continue working on her enchantments and Ranvas promised to talk to Bene about it before ushering the gnome to get some sleep.   Bene brought gifts to Gurbak and learned that Law was seeing months ago visiting a church in the Field Ward, but Gurbak didn't learn who he met or what the church name was. He was then met with Ranvas and the two began talking about expansions for the Good Place.   Nomime and her father Eric returned home where Nomime told about her adventures. The rest of the group gathered in Nomime's place, wanting to learn the properties of the magic items they had procured from Rezmir. While Nomime was identifying the items, her father told that the Cult of the Dragon has had eyes on their family seemingly for years.    He told that Law and Nomime's mother Iris came to visit him while he was locked up. Iris had gave him a letter to pass to Nomime, emphasizing it's importance. While the rest of the group returned to their rooms in the Good Place, Nomime stayed up a little longer reading the letter.   As morning came, the Good Fellas gathered behind the inn, ready to perform for the fey. They activated the gilded lotus gifted to Ranvas and a portal appeared before them. Stepping through, they found themselves in another realm, standing in a clearing of a lush forest.    The clearing had a wooden stage erected in front of a gazebo where Giftgiver would bring his guest. He gave the party an hour to prepare whilst he would fetch his date for the night. As the hour went by, they watched as the fey brought an otherwordly elven creature to watch the play they had prepared.   The performance began strong as Steve played by Ranvas had traveled to the Feywild where he met a fey who stole his name. After returning from the feywild, Giftgivers companion sighed with boredom. Soon Giftgiver summoned Ice Memphits and a Water Elemental who began attacking the Good Fellas in the middle of their play.    The show went on as some fought off against the newly appeared actors while others pushed the plot forward. The chaos soon enough grew dull for the fey as she began yawning. Her attention was soon restored as Nut jumped on top of one of the ice memphits and gushed fire, creating an impromptu-dragon. This gave the Giftgiver an idea and soon enough a live red dragon materialized next to the stage.   Raging inferno took the stage as the performers were engulfed by the dragon's breath. Ranvas jumped on top and rode it through the skies while Nut sent out arrow after arrow, eventually slaying the dragon. As Ranvas floated down, the play came to an end, describing the hubris and (literal) fall of the mortal (fish)man.   The fey seemed to enjoy the play and welcomed the Good Fellas to perform again to her when they visit the Feywild. As she took her leave, Giftgiver gave Ranvas his fourth letter. He also shared his fifth favor for Ranvas: To hunt down the hags and kill them.   Giftgiver informed that he had reclaimed Andrew's soul, placing it on a cricket. However, after restoring it to Andrew he told that it would be likely that the hags would find a way to separate it again and this time the Giftgiver wouldn't be so kind to fetch it again.   Thus Nomime agreed that for the time being, Giftgiver would hold on to Andrew as she and the group would hunt down the hags and kill them. The giftgiver returned them back to the Good Place and bid them farewells.    The looming threat of Iymrith is still present, her ascension coming closer to completion. But are the heroes prepared to face off against the Doom of the Desert just yet? As the Realms are met with another catastrophic event, the heroes have to make a decision. Will they stall for time, while hunting the remaining Giant Lords? Will they face off against the Hags? Or does their path lead them to the Desert?
