Treachery and Trials Report

General Summary

Following the terrible events in Blackstaff Tower TTAAB is captured and taken by Vajra Safahr & Laeral Silverhand to a series of underground cells in the Castle Ward.
  They are held & then questioned individually under the influence of a Zone of Truth. It is determined that they are victims and not perpetrators.
  As a result of this and their close proximity to the actual perpetrator (Renaer Neverember ) they are invited to participate in his interrogation in an effort to piece together what has occurred. During questioning Renaer Neverember is able to share:
 

Vierasti is very very old

Vierasti is plotting something against Waterdeep: but that in itself is only a means to an end

Vierasti needs a sentient weapon to fulfill the plan

The creature thought he could use Duskbreaker but couldn’t – he must use a weapon he is capable of wielding (simple weapons)

Renaer and our Heroes came to the creature's attention upon the slaying of Meloon and the claiming of Duskbreaker.

Vierasti needed Money to assist in fulfilling his plans

Most importantly Vierasti needed the Blackstaff or at least be able to get access to the Blackstaff

It has the ability to “steal souls” and create zombies but the process hurts Vierasti . It used a tool designed for this to steal a part of Kelben 's soul from the Blackstaff. Following the questioning Laeral Silverhand and Vajra Safahr asked TTAAB to participate in a shared dream that would cover their past and perhaps offer clues to their future.

  This process revealed a dizzying array of information and ended with each participant getting an individual message.
  Following their release and a promise to visit Blackstaff Tower the next midday our Heroes headed back to Lifted Spirits for a bit of rest and day drinking. They were interrupted by Broxley Fairkettle who had Sylvia Bast and Harrison Fletcher in tow as potential Managers of the Inn. With their warmth and smooth professionalism the matter was quickly settled and soon a small neighborhood business owners party was in full swing.
  Rishaal and Lenuir managed to find some time apart from the crowd and some underlying feelings began to show. Rishaal had clearly decided some gentle first moves were required.
  The following day at Blackstaff Tower Laeral Silverhand & Vajra Safahr revealed that they needed TTAAB to try to subdue a Mind Flayer nihloor that may be somehow mixed up in all of this. They also discussed going to see Embrae Aloevan][Xanathar in Ardeep Forest as the future vision seemed to show the Heroes speaking with Laeral Silverhand 's sister at the Court of the Silver Fire.
