Nobilis Memoria Report
General Summary
Having made contact with the coven of mycellium enclave, which is perhaps better described as a quarantined ward, the fellowship learns about the reasons for the blockade. It seems the rules of in memoriam fear the cult, as they refused to give over their dead to be raised as undead, instead feeding their remains to the mushroom grove they wished to construct. Observing a conversation between the local covens leader, a druid named delaina, and a young and somewhat impatient ranger, the fellowship decides to contact the druid to try and negotiate between the two groups using magical means. The fellowship learns more about the nature of the conflict, and the apparent stalemate that is fuelled by misunderstanding. As a peace offering, Delaina suggests that she might have important information on enemies of in memoriam, which might go a long way to show the covens good intentions. The group gets an audience with the Nobilis Memoria, the ruling nobility of the city and by their behavior gains insight into the workings of the undead. Having a much richer and complex mindscape, these much more sophisticated undead are still limited and linear in their thinking. The nobilis memoria asks the fellowship to show their memories, to prove themselves worthy for an audience with their monarchs. All but Niniane Ashton agree to do this, and the same strange magic as the group has seen before used by the trolls surrounds and aids those that tell the stories. The court agrees to allow the fellowship to see their monarchs, and the fellowship is given free passage through the city.
