The break of dawn Report

General Summary

Arriving back in the waking world, only few remember the onslaught of the storm that raged during the night and stranded the fellowship of the desert star in the strange dreamscape of the city of shadows and their alternate identities. Suspecting a connection between the entity called the playwright and the golden curtain theatre, which so prominently featured in the dream, the fellowship investigates. They find impressive illusions covering up the ruins of the apparently not at all destroyed theatre, hiding an underground base of operations, still completely intact. Breaking the security on the theatre they find the site of what might well be the epicenter of the great storm that pushed them into the dreamscape; the first mate of the illusive end is at the centre of a ritual circle, propped up by on stage held aloft only by strings tied to his limbs as if to control his now limp body like a puppet. Taking the powerful book that was likely used to cast a potent spell, the fellowship concludes their investigation at the golden curtain theatre. Bringing together a group of allied researchers, the fellowship concludes that the book has potent ritual magic, which requires each user to write a new spell in the book, which takes the form of a theatre play written with magical glyphs and the ritual has powers exceeding known spellcasting capabilities.
