Empty minds, empty fields Report
General Summary
Following the strangely behaving undead deeper into the marshes, the fellowship comes across a gathering point of sorts, stacked with all kinds of materials useful for civilization. Whatever drives these undead creatures is clearly drives them to collect and build. Besides the group of seaside scavenging undead the group was following, they quickly realize that this place is also used by others of their kind, each of them collecting different materials. However, some of these undead appear to be somewhat more than the mindless worker drones they were following as they gather near a campfire and go through the motions of community and kinship.
Resting for the night, the group hears the same war-horn they had heard before when sailing around the undead territories. Sneaking ahead to scout, Helene and Junayed are almost cut off from the group, as a military force moves towards their camping ground. Breaking the enemy's advance, the commander appears to be sentient, yielding the fight and calling upon the old laws of chivalry. He introduces himself as Guillaume de Monteque, a knight commander of the King of Dusk and the queen of Dawn. He reveals that there is a city, and that certainly his lieges would be willing to negotiate for his ransom.
