And the dead do sleep Report
General Summary
A remedy worse than the disease, that would be one way of describing the monsterous abomination lurking beneath the surface of the still waters in troll rock. A massive infestation of wildly growing fungal matter, desperately trying to break down all traces of the multiple henous crimes committed by both the oppressors and the opressed. But where in other underground regions the party traveled through, the mycelium and the regenerating trolls were locked in an elaborate dance of decay and regeneration, entropy and something not quite life each refusing to release their desperate hold. Here at the heart of the mycelium, the stakes seem to have been higher. Whatever it is that the coven of the mycellium has unleashed here, in this cave where the heart of darkness still beats, its clear that it was both up to the task and whofully inadequate. Without the attention of the druids of mycelium, left to its own devices it grew and grew in order to achieve its goal. Consuming ever more of that which grows, that which changes, anything *EVERYTHING* so that there could be peace. And soo too the fellowship, their movements and their thoughts drawing the heart of mycelium to them.A pitched battle against slippery rocks and unyielding spongy tentacles almost dragged both helene and Lara to their ends. Enough for even a coward like Bjarn to finally step up and intervene. But with the destruction of the heart and the grip of entropy and decay on this place released, the true heart of this place is revealed. The bodies of two newly minted saints, a troll and a man, their stark white bones locked in protective embrace at the bottom of the pool. What this means? Opinions differ. Where the saints blessed with absolution for their deeds, or the rest cursed without a reason? And surely, what does it mean that two new saints are to be added to the canon of the godseekers? And above all, what drove the coven of mycelium to unleash and abandon their creation?
