Deja Vu Report

General Summary

Rastos was shot once again in the chest with a bullet from a high-powered rifle from somewhere in the distance, only clinging to life through the strength of his Lightning Ward. The party instantly threw up a number of defensive measures within the cave to protect Rastos and to allow Torren to finish attuning to the chaos diamond, while the warforged and the marksman began their push inward. Several more high powered shots were sustained, including a blast from some sort of flamethrower device integrated into the marksman's bracers, until Torren was momentarily snapped out of his attunement JUUUST long enough to banish the half orc for the remainder of the fight.   The party then engaged the warforged monk in a surprisingly not unbalanced 4v1, which almost resulted in the damaged monk successfully disrupting Torren's final round of attunement, before an incredible stroke of luck and focus allowed Torren to complete the ritual early. Torren called out to the warforged, "Tell Thalia we're coming for her," before teleporting behind him and activating the diamond, concentrating its chaos into an ordered word of recall to the Temple of Adranus in Niyat.   Upon their arrival, they met some interesting individuals, sentient beings made of metal known as the warforged. AX-220ADW, or Axe, was the first to greet them, along with OS-29BDW, or Oscar. They explained the nature of the warforged society, about how a legion of warforged had been created to fight in the war of to end the First Age, and after the war 100 of them retreated to live for peace in the isolation of Niyat, at the original Temple of Adranus. These warforged then summoned the other 87 currently living in the community, describing how in 122 ADW Magnus arrived claiming to bring enlightenment to those worshipping Adranus. He said that it was necessary for him to oversee the tablet to preserve Adranus's essence in the Material Plane, and was sent back away to Alioth with the tablet in tow and 10 warforged to help oversee its safety. Neither Magnus nor the warforged were ever heard from again, with the exception of a single anonymous message delivered over 80 years later, stating that Magnus had chosen the path of the dark god, and that they believe only one of the original 10 warforged managed to escape North with them.   Finally guiding the party down and around the massive volcanic mountain into which the temple is built, Oscar and Axe introduce the party to Modessa's cavern, built into the base of the mountain rather than the top, and are instructed to beseech this ancient, mysterious being to guide them regarding the will of Chronus in the chaos to come. Intending to depart for Menkalinan the next day, the warforged then left the party to search for answers.
