Session Sixty Three: Mothing wrong here

General Summary

The party is led by Vence across the street to enter the tunnel system of Wroat. Piesk has decided to join the party is the human version of himself. They are led into gardens where a shed opens up and the party decents into the darkness. The moment Vence steps into the tunnels Thaen shifts in and Piesk greats him with a tight hug which he has no intention to let go explaining how grateful he is for what his brother is doing for him.  

Ritually casting shade

  Griff sits down to cast Animal messenger ritually and Malak joins him to ritually cast detect magic. Tristan suggest to Griff to sent an animal appropriate message this time, something that is more like the noise the animal makes. Griff tells him he’s smart enough to learn from their past mistake.   Piesk asks Thaen what they are doing and Thaen explains they are ritually casting spells. Piesk asks if Thaen can also do this. Thaen mentions he is not able to cast any spells ritually and Tristan flexes his ritual casting muscles to add he can also cast things ritually. The ritual casters and Piesk mess with Thaen and Chantilly adds she still thinks it’s cool even though she has no ability to cast magic. Griff and Piesk agree with her and Piesk adds that he thinks Thaen is cool to.  

I choose you! Charmoth the moth

  A moth appears as the animal messenger and Griff ponders what sound a moth even makes and tells it to find Gislea and deliver the following message “ I am Death incarnate and you have taken my love from me and you will let her go go go go go go go go”. The moth Flutters up buzzes around Malak’s vibrantly glowing hair for a moment distracted before it starts moving forward. As the group follows the moth Tristan tells Griff he approves of the message. The group moves decently stealthy towards the citadel from where they move left twice through the tunnels. Malak choses to stay towards the back to be as little a distraction for the moth as possible. Thaen passes a moon-touched dagger to Piesk, Malak uses light and Griff produce Flame to light their way.  

Party Split

  As the move left again Thaen freezes for a moment as the Moth followed by Griff, Tristan and Chantilly continues to move. He tells the group to be weary of traps and secret doors before they move after the group ahead at about 30 feet distance behind them.   Silmer asks Thaen about leaving markings on the wall to find their way back. Thaen advices Silmer to leave markings on the ground instead. Silmer decides to leave a pebble on all the inside corners as they move on.   As the group moves north Thaen mentions that the pathway to the south has the flood controls. As the moth moves further west past a hallway to the north Thaen mentions there is a hidden room north there they might want to check out when they leave.   Tristan casts message to ask Thaen what the pipes they encounter serve for and gets told they are water pipes used to flood the hallways.  

Eye found you!

  As team moth turns south Chantilly hears sniffles and asks who’s there. As Griff and the moth move on Chantilly goes in the opposite direction and meets an Elven man in red cultist robes. He exclaims “You’ve found me, please wait!”. Chantilly bounces backwards and shouts “Stranger danger! Red Cloak!”. Tristan steps forward as Chantilly Darts towards Griff and asks him “What’s the matter sir”. The elf explains they left him in the tunnels because he accidentally cast a spell on the wrong people. Ask Piesk comes around the corner with the moon touched dagger the Elf happily exclaims he’s “One of us” And Piesk says “Yes?” slightly Confused convincing the elf he’s one of the Eyes. Thaen shifts into an Elf wearing Eye cult robes as he appears in sight of the elf   Tristan mentions they are there to help with the half elves while Silmer uses his hat to Change into a bulky elf wearing cult robes. Griff notices that Tristan has not caught up drops a lit torch trusting in Tristans ability to handle the Elf and catch up. Malak walks past the happening with the Elf and stays right between Team Moth and the Elf entourage.   Chantilly notices a trap and gestures/marks it as the move onwards.  

Wh-eye don't they hire rabbits?

  As the elf entourage catches up with team moth Silmer picks up the torch and the Elf notices the Harregon and as he exclaims “We don’t hire Rabbits!” Tristan instantly knocks him out and swings him over his shoulder. As the Elf is gone Silmer Shifts back into Silmer. Piesk asks Thaen if he should turn into an Elf also and Thaen tells him that’s a good idea and mentions he has a robe for him to wear to finish the disguise. Tristan moves up to Malak and tells him they have a plus one patting the elf on his butt.   Chantilly spots wires ahead and wall grooves as the moth flutters through. She skillfully hops through the wires and Griff turns into a moth and back into Griff past the wires having them loose sight of the moth for a moment.   Thaen Messages Mallak that he knows a way around the trap and Team Cultist regroups and follow Thaen’s directions.  

He goes up in a pup of smoke

  Griff turns the fire back on using produce flame and see’s a Valenar hound. He walks forward trying to charm the dog but fails. As the Valenar hound attempts to run Griff sucker punches it with an opportunity attack and Chantilly uses the opportunity to stab the hound as it instantly goes up in smoke. They follow the moth to the next Trap which Chantilly skillfully disarms as Malak asks Chantilly using message if they went left.   Thaen sighs and mentions he’s relieved that they are moving there and the group move back to the trap as Thaen explains the way around would be to long. Tristan casts disguise self to match the other cultists turning into a blond elven man with his own eye color and shifts his cloak to match the design of the eyes robes. At the wire trap Tristan attempts to throw the elf through the wire but Silmer stops him. Silmer tells him we don’t waste lives and gives him a pot instead which Tristan skillfully throws through the trap missing the wires. Angered he recklessly throws an axe through the wires setting of the trap as fire erupts from the walls. When the fire settles down Team Cultists catches up with Team Moth and Tristan picks up his axe on the way and Silmer picks up his pot.  

Gather your party and venture forth

  Charmoth is bumping into what seems to be a hidden door and from behind the door they hear voices saying “ I can’t believe they brought in Len for this. And Jossac too, not sure why she’s here”.   The group now consisting of Piesk, Thaen and Tristan in disguise and the rest gather in front of the door ready to take their next action.
