Session Three: Oh My Godfried

General Summary

Arrival in Fairhaven   Jossac introduces the group to Captain Conrad Mer, captain of Fairhaven's Royal Guard. The captain wants to take all involved in for questioning.   As George isn't looking very well, the group ask to first find a place to stay and put him to bed. Conrad agrees and he and a few soldiers escort the group to The Gold Dragon Inn: Service District. At the Inn, the receptionist, a Kalashtar named Almentash, arranges them all rooms on Prince Jurian's tab (Malak even got an upgrade to the penthouse, being a card holder at the Inn). Once everyone is freshened up, George put to bed and Mia thoroughly horrifying the Captain with her 8am "Golden Sling", everyone set out to the Glasshouse.   The Glasshouse   At the fortress, everyone is sat down together for questioning. Together they explained the events of the night before. Nesza also reveals his Soldier's Mark. Conrad does too. Conrad seems a bit concerned as there's a lot that needs to be done and he has very little resources to do so. Most of the Royal Guard are escorting the Princess to Thrane.   He asks if the group would help him dive deeper into looking up information about this incident and possibly the Sicklemen. The group seem a bit skeptical so Conrad suggests a meeting with Prince Wrogar ir'Wynar the next day. The group agree (as funds are starting to run low). Vence also assists with further questioning on Jamie by casting Suggestion on him (to truthfully answer the guards on any question they ask him)... at a fee of 150 Gold.   Split Up   In preparation for the meeting, and also to sort out their own affairs, the group split up. Malak and Nesza. Silmer and Vence. Mia, Corvus and April. They all agree to meet at Fernando's for dinner.   The Necrotic Shroud   Malak and Nesza head to the Gold Dragon Inn. In his room, Nesza speaks to Malak about his quest to find a specific location indicated on a map. That a stranger told him that "this will save him". Malak looks at the map and, although he could not completely pin point it, the structure of the roads and the shrine reminded him of Thrane. This gives Nesza the inspiration to go to Flamekeep when the next opportunity arises. Nesza also reveals his necrotic shroud, which surprised but did not alarm Malak.   After the conversation, Nesza checks on George and then takes a rest. Malak sends a message and then heads to an inn frequented by military personnel called the Drunken Dwarf. There seems to be more military than first implied. But they are tired. Predisposed with something completely different.     Spire of Knowledge   Silmer and Vence head to the Spire of Knowledge. Vence is referred to as "Thaen" by Molly. (Vence explains she is easily tricked). Vence then heads to the University of Arcanix and Silmer decides to look up books about Tortles.   Molly suggests "Tortles of Adar" by Juliona Godfried under the anthropology section, which Silmer starts reading while he waits for Vence.   Vence goes to the reception desk at the University Campus and asks for help in locating Juliona Godfried but he doesn't have a last name. He explains about needing to interpret inaccurate stories in a book. After some discussion, it was established he may need to speak with Juliona Godfried, a professor of Anthropology. She is fascinated by his book but doesn't have the time today to look into it during working hours. She invites Vence to visit her on her day off the next day to discuss this further. When Vence inquires about her last name, she merely chimes proudly that it comes from her husband Kleris, a famous artificer.   Back at the Spire, Vence is frustrated to see that Silmer stumbled upon a book that Juliona Godfried wrote. He joins Silmer in some reading and then the two go to have some coffee at the Eureka Cafe.     The Palace and the Spire of Life   Corvus, Mia and April head towards the Royal Palace. Mia hands April a new dress to wear while in Fairhaven and then collapses on Corvus' bed. Corvus helps April into her dress.   Corvus and April head towards the Spire of Life, where Corvus learns there is a Molly in that Spire too (but she doesn't "know" him). They are directed to the "Infections and Spores" department.   The halfling at the reception desk takes great interest in what happened on the train. She also insists on taking the vial without giving away additional samples (which Corvus had promised Malak that he'd do).   April agrees with Corvus to create a "fake" sample for Malak. Corvus also speaks with a doctor about the incident on the train. He found out that the information on his parchment is a for a fungal infection know as the Sporring. And that House Jorrasco has a few vials in case they need to retroactively test for cures. The doctor didn't know much about the Sickness. Corvus and April head back to the palace where April creates a reasonably convincing concoction using some of her own vials of things.   Mia then wakes up and they head towards Fernando's.     Fernando's   The whole group meet at the fancy restaurant and, at varying degrees, explain what they found. Corvus gives Malak the vial, explaining that the workers took the original and he wanted to give this to Malak as a souvenir. The night ends with Vence collecting his money at the Glasshouse and then everyone agreeing to meet at the Palace. Some then went to the Drunken Dwarf while others went to rest or read.
