Session Fifty Five: Hey Bunny

General Summary

Follow the white rabbit   Unbeknownst to the group, Chantilly has been on their tail ever since spotting the feather Emir carries. She follows them to the Gold Dragon Inn, where she makes sure to flash her feather at him and bounces. The group follow the hare towards a cliff at the edge of the village. Chantilly makes sure to slow down and stay in sight so they can follow easily. Griff turns into a dog and catches up after recognising her smell. She, in turn, recognises his tattoos and welcomes him back. In the meanwhile, Malak checks with Cissa if she knows about Chantilly – she doesn’t.

The Hops

Down a set of stairs they go until they reach a place called The Hops, guarded by Chantilly’s brother, Chad. Malak loves the sign so much he almost walks off a cliff. He’s saved by Tristan.   Chantilly tells Chad to allow their guests access. When Griff shifts back, Chad is delighted. Griff is his idol.   The establishment is small, with roots as tables and chairs, filled with bunnies. As she enters, Chantilly hops to a beat they seem to recognise. They nod. Emir also tries it, confusing the bunnies.   When seated down, they get carrot juice (Silmer gets baby carrot juice).   Turns out Chantilly and Griff know eachother. The bunnies would have died after someone stole food for them during war, but Griff struck a deal. She also knows where to find a certain Swan and will lead them there the day after.   Tristan gets bunny piled and manages to turn them all away through a conversation with Griff about not eating them...   Tristan asks about Chantilly’s feather, but she won’t share that story just yet. Her siblings have feathers too.

The bunny joins for dinner

They take Chantilly back with them for dinner... not FOR dinner. While eating, Emir asks about the Ebony Syndicate. They revere a hag called Greensong and are among those that send offerings her way. Their offerings are more extreme though. Think people, alive or dead. House Deneith has been trying to stop them.   Chantilly’s family also send offerings. Chantilly knits tiny socks to send.   It’s also revealed that when Greensong sings a specific song is played, they should stay far away.   Chantilly explains she’s a guide to those wearing the feathers, supposed to take them to the Swan (a task bestowed to her by the Nightingale). She’s also a guide for those traversing the forest as there are convergence zones linked to the Feyrealm. She’ll lead them to Swan’s hidey-hole tomorrow.   Silmer tells her not to touch him as she leans over to tell him something.   As she leaves to go him, she tells Emir not to do the hop he did in the bar again. It might endanger people.   The group discuss things at the table. Among the topics is whether it’s alright for Silmer to not wear his hat and if Emir should tell Chantilly about being a changeling.

Preparing for the task ahead

They split up for the night.   Griff goes out and communes, wanting to find out the lay of the land.   Tristan talks to Brix about Pavo. It seems Pavo spoke to Brix about Tristan and considers him a friend. Tristan asks to thank Paro for his hospitality. Silmer joins in at the end and reveals himself to Brix. He’s unphased by the tortle in the room.   Meanwhile, Malak goes to sleep and dream walks to Myri. They get flashed around the battlefield, each time leading to Myri helping someone in need. Malak asks her whether their group can be called The flameless in her honour. She hugs him tightly and then rushes off. Malak yells how proud he is of her.   It’s the next day and the group meet Chantilly at the door.   They first head to the Orien Station, where Tristan sends mail and Griff receives mail. Then it’s time to head out of town.
