Holiday Session: Independence Jam Report

General Summary

Cigfran and Roisin Marshfield began to notice their vision blurring and going dark. A familiar, and much despised, voice began to exhort them both as their perception was replaced with a new vision, of a ruined keep somewhere. The voice continued to exhort them that "guidance" was needed, and they must see what happens without "guidance". As their vision faded again, they found themselves in a fully intact keep eating dinner, everyone around treating them as others; persons named Marcus and Cereniya. Led to a workshop with a strange machine, they found Cereniya's "spellbook", really a journal in Deep Speech relating how this con-artist had been deceiving the soldiers (not to mention bedding several) into thinking her a wizard. As they tried to repair in some way, and understand this strange device, they found themselves controlled by a monstrous humanoid who's face showed on a glass within the device, then driven out of these borrowed forms to merely observe while further atrocities were performed and committed. Again they heard the terrible voice exhorting them to "come home" where they would receive "guidance" so clearly needed, as evidenced by the events they witnessed. Their vision faded again and they found themselves back where they had been, but it was not right, and after experiencing difficulty and viewing @Boris transform into a horror, again were exhorted to "come home" before returning to themselves, perhaps for real this time.

Back in the strange tunnels, they chose to explore a bit, finding a couple of store rooms and recovering some useful items before returning to the party.
