Session 100: Time to face the flames Report

General Summary

After ensuring the castle would be maintained, an oversight that required an extra week to hire guards and conjure magical servants, Roisin and the Roses were transported by Roy's magic to a hidden room within the Perfumed Palace, in the city of Borelius' Boast. The group packed all their equipment into Roisin's magical purse, and stepped out of the hidden room with tokens in hand to enjoy a spa day, although Bastion chose to play the guard instead of accepting the lavish ameneties. Bastion explained to the group the changes in the city since Alathius replaced Duke Crwthis and his wife with their servants. Bastion, in his role as guard, also defended his charges from some individuals who attempted to force themselves on these strangers. A number of larger patrons failed to take a hint, and two required sufficient martial admonishment as to result in two corpses that were quietly cleaned up by the staff without comment. During the afternoon, Bastion was contacted by an associate met during his year staying here to ask if he could help with a simmering rebellion. Bastion replied that the group would help. The contact asked who these people might be, specifically who the "lady who keeps hiding", and the "Ogre" might be. Bastion vouched for them, so the contact invited them to "the swamp meeting" that night for "The Bearded One" to make the decision, because "They'll know" if the group can be trusted. Finishing their day at the spa, well rested and pampered, the party left the "Perfumed Palace" before heading into the swamp. Met there by the same contact, they were led about another hour into the swamp, to a location with a larger hummock where stood an immense and ancient mangrove. As about two dozen individuals stepped out of the darkness surrounding the party with weapons ready. The ancient tree moved slightly with the breeze, it seemed, then eyes opened, and the tree spoke. "Well, then, I guess we should introduce ourselves. I am called The Bearded One, and I see we have a princess in our midst. I understand you stand against your father, princess; I hope that's true". Roisin responded "It is".
