Session 21: Looking for an eye in the middle of a hay stack Report
General Summary
18th of Rolier 1524 Reign and Karl return to the inn after having dinner with Anita Mill and Wade Locktree. Karl was clearly suffering more from the wine then Reign. They met up with Fargrim and eventually went up after Lyra to the room Xeldarix and Simone were in. Lyra revealed to Reign and Karl she was aware they had been followed. This led to Fargrim asking Lyra to look into the temple using more subtle means and Xeldarix said she would support Lyra with this. The conversation continues where it is revealed that the butler, Todor, is most likely working for the Unchained. Fargrim reveals that a halfling named Rima had found the gem they were looking for and had given it to the former Haelyn priest in town who had been killed. Lyra and Reign have an argument but in the end apologise to one another. Plans were made about Reign trying to leave a false trail for herself and Karl leaving town, Xeldarix and Lyra having a look at the temple overnight and reconvening in the morning to discuss plans with new information. Karl messaged Steve about the guild having contacts with any libraries in Saarmen. Steve replied with the fact he would talk to one of the other Masters. Overnight Lyra and Xeldarix sneak into the temple of Haelyn. Lyra finds the journal of Keg Strongarm, the former High Priest of the church, on the table of the study. It indicated the Unchained had a general idea of where to look. The continued search found some information Lyra was confident the Unchained at not found that said the Mind's Eye was hidden near water and what looked to be unstable debris. Together, they found a secret room that led downstairs to an older temple to Haelyn that this one was built on top of. They found an area that matched the description in the hidden note, but had to leave before they could investigate further for risk of being discovered. 19th of Rolier 1524 In the morning Lyra, Karl, Xeldarix, Reign, Fargrim and Simone spoke about the new information. They decided they would all go back to the temple tonight to try and find the gem. They asked Simone a question. Her condition seemed a little worse, but overall still seemed to manageable. Question: "What are the Unchained's priorities now in Saarmen?" The Cards draw:
- The Lovers Love Each Other 3: A couple (waist up) sit together. The female sits in front of the male and he has his arms around her. It is a peaceful scene and they look happy, but the clouds in the background… do they look like skulls with the tone work?
- The Dragonfae Goddess Tiamet You Are Stronger then You Think 15: There is a human looking woman with unfamiliar ethic looks. She is sitting by a river in a desert with a pyramid behind her. There is a crocodile in the water.
- Fernia Clairty 43: A woman made from plants sits poised and looking thoughtful. She is made out of poison ivy.
- Go to the market district, Karl using disguise self when he leaves the inn.
- They bought knitting needles for Xeldarix and arranged to get them silvered.
- Tales of badass Grandma was spread.
- They found a moving fae bookstore and lost nearly 6 hours over two visits.
- A horse started to talk and one was feeling philosophical.
- They went back to the inn.
- Organised passage to Kvigmar and to not go the whole way.
- Went to Éla's Suppression of Shadows
- Told them about things that happened in Brechlen and Poden
- Discovered that this may not be a trusted group.
- Went to the inn she heard about from the Sailors called the Scarlet Candle Inn.
- Went to find out more about the history of the town.
