Session 75: Deals and Plans Made Report
General Summary
15th of Deismir 1524 continued As the flying boat reaches The General's ship, Enna can see her Captain fighting two devils. There are many here and most people are badly hurt. Erin is in her rage form, blindly trying to stab at the creatures around her and Kai is nowhere to be seen.There are many fallen bodies of the crew around. Enna runs forward, screaming for her Captain as she jumps off the flying boat. The ice devil attacking Jarram takes advantage of this distraction to spear him and he falls to the ground before it moves to attack Enna. It’s tail strikes her in a vulnerable area. Zoe twirls with her Scimitar and a light hammer, slashing at the ice devil attacking her and bringing it down as the scimitar bites into it. She continues to dance around to the back of another ice devil, but her hammer misses. As she lets out a musical cry, the air around her seems to radiate around her. Meanwhile Erin is raging as she attacks an ice devil around her blindly, hitting it and being defensive for when it will return the attack. Viona leaps out of the boat to attack an ice devil in her wolf form. Around the boat two skippers fall as the ice devils attack and so does Zoe. Back at the grove, the trees guard the wine. Lily heals herself up a bit, then picks up Ohtli’s saddle, stuffs it in her bag, and turns into a celestial imp to fly to the edge of the grove. Fargrim pleads with Xeldarix to help him get to the boat quickly as he heals himself a little. Back at the ship Karl lifts his hand and golden portals open up beneath four of the ice devils, sucking three of them away. Hel pulls the flying boat thirty feet away and ten feet up from the deck so he can still see but is out of reach. Enna runs between Erin and the ice devil, missing as she swings her sword. This devil attacks Enna with their spear. Erin tries to stab at a devil that was banished and is clearly very confused by the situation in her rage. A devil moves up to her and attacks her. Viona runs and stands over Jarram, attacking the devil there to try and protect her crew. An ice devil moves up to her. Around the boat five skippers fall as the ice devils attack and one of the skippers hits an ice devil as they fight back. Little strange blue money like things run out to where each crew member fell. One of the ice devils advance towards the group. Meanwhile Lily continues to fly towards the boat. Xeldarix sighs and picks up Fargrim to start flying towards the ship. Fargrim prays for his own healing. From above, Karl sends out a magic missile to kill the devil attacking Erin. He directs Erin to move towards Enna before the devil explodes. He asks someone to get Jarram and Zoe up. Enna is attacked by an ice devil and Enna responds by critically striking this devil back. Meanwhile another one comes up behind Enna, hitting her hard. An ice devil moves up to Viona and attacks her. Erin is attacked by a devil and is close to falling on the deck. Erin tries to do as instructed and blindly runs into ice5 before stumbling away in confusion. As Erin leaves, the ice devil that was downed explodes and takes Enna down with it. Viona lashes out and nearly downs an ice devil. However, the ice devil hits back and she turns back into herself. Erin sways as she takes damage from this as well. Around the boat two skippers fall as the ice devils attack and so does Zoe.Two of the ice devils advance towards the group. Uqaviel appears out of nowhere behind one of the ice devils and destroys it, causing a skipper to shit himself as a reaction. Uqaviel ignores the human and throws his chakram at another ice devil, knocking it prone and stunning it. Meanwhile Lily continues to fly towards the boat, while healing Fargrim a little.. Xeldarix flies and arrives at the edge of the boat with Fargrim in hand. Fargrim casts a spell of mass healing onto two nearby skippers, Erin, Enna, Jarram, Viona. The ice devil near the prone and stunned one goes over to that one to see what is wrong. Karl rains down another magic missile and yells at Enna to move. However, it comes too late as the devil explodes and Enna is badly hurt and Viona is also hurt. Enna gets up quickly to attack another devil and kill that one before moving to her Captain. A devil moves up to attack Xeldarix and Fargrim, only hitting Fargrim. Xeldarix flies away from the devil attacking her and Fargrim, putting him down before going back to attack an ice devil. The skipper near Uqaviel slowly backs away from him as another skipper attacks a devil. A few of the other skippers go to check on their fellow crew. Lily continues to dash towards the boat. Two of the devils attack Xeldarix, but they aren’t successful. A devil near Xeldarix and Jarram explodes which hurts them both. The devil near Uqaviel explodes and he looks very annoyed. He flies over to the prone devil and kills it before he moves up to the devil that went to the prone one. Uqaviel tries to knock this new one prone and stun it, but it resists. This devil then attacks Uqaviel. An ice devil runs up and attacks Fargrim. He reacts by attacking the devil back, killing it before attacking another devil that had run over to Xeldarix. The devil near Xeldarix attacks her. Jarram gets up and immediately goes to defend his admiral. Erin starts to lose her cool over in the corner with been unable to see what is happening and the deck is in chaos. Viona slashes at the one in front of her and a bolt goes wide at another. Karl kills off another ice devil and tells someone to get Zoe up. Viona orders Jarram to move before the devil explodes as a devil runs after Enna. It downs Enna before attacking Erin as well. Enna starts to bleed out. Xeldarix slices into a devil near her and that devil attacks her back. Two fo the skippers head for the main deck to start to help out, while another attacks an ice devil. Viona directs Fargrim to run before a devil explodes and allows him to get away in time. Xeldarix is attacked by two ice devils as another explodes near Uqaviel. Uqaviel destroys another devil and it explodes. Jarram runs over to Zoe to help her. Lily flies to be above the ship and sends down some healing light on Zoe. Erin calls out for Enna as she lashes out at the creature that hurt her. Viona runs over to Enna and does a medicine check, dragging her out from under the fight and stabilising her. Fargrim runs to the skipper and tries to cast spare the dying to stabilise them. Some of the strange blue monkey-like creatures run away from the crew as fargrim approaches. Karl notices that Uqaviel is seething with anger. The wood around him is visibly showing early signs of heat damage. With this in mind, he flies the boat over until he can see Erin and sees her situation. Karl’s eyes glow and his hair starts to float up and he pulls all the magic from the weave and channels it into seven massive golden darts that slam into the devil attacking Erin. He directs her on where to move to, but it explodes before she can move away. Erin runs into Fargrim and almost takes a swing at him. She call out for Karl and Enna and is scolded by Viona as she fires her crossbow at a devil. Xeldarix slashes a devil attacking her and one of them get a hit back on her. The remaining skippers that are up join the fight but cannot hit the devils. Zoe stands, picks up her violin and starts to play. The blue furred monkey creature scurry around going to the people that have fallen. With Zoe back up, Jarram joins the fight and gets a good slash on an ice devil. Uqaviel destroys another ice devil before knocking another prone and stunning them. Lily sends out healing light to Enna. Fargrim moves to the next downed skipper to stabilise them with spare the dying. Karl directs Erin to stay where she is as he sends a wave of magic missiles to an ice devil attacking Xeldarix. With Enna waking back up, she holds her ground. Erin does the same. Viona directs Jarram and one of her Skippers to move away from a devil that will soon explode. Xeldarix moves to attack the devil Uqaviel knocked prone. Another ice devil moves up and attacks Xeldarix. The skippers and Jarram run over to help Xeldarix. Uqaviel attack an ice devil but doesn’t manage to finish it off. Zoe continued to play as the blue money like creatures drag the bodies of the skippers away from the current fight. Lily and Fargrim sends healing light to Xeldarix. Karl sends another wave of magic missiles which finishes off another ice devil before informing Erin about Enna and her location. Viona continues to direct her crew away from the downed devils. Xeldarix finishes off the last devils. Jarram is taken down by the explosion of that devil, however with the last of the threats and the blue monkeys running to the fallen. Erin shrinks, slowly slides down the wall of the stairs until she is on the ground. Kai appeared on her shoulder. Fargrim quickly runs over to help people as Lily heals some people. Jarram and Zoe start helping the skippers who can move the injured below deck. Viona speaks with the group and they reflect on what happened. It is highlighted that Albrecht was aligned with this force. Fargrim dances around not having all the answers while Viona gets frustrated with him pussy footing around the situation. Viona unbinds Erin from the connection that bound their lives together. It seems that Zoe had trained the blue creatures, known as Giblons, to stabilise people who go down in a fight. Meanwhile Lily has the dolphins doing what they can about the fire on the other boats. Karl moves over to comfort Erin who is struggling in the emotional aftermath of her divine wrath form. Lily and Fargrim watch Viona throws out her hand and the rope on her arm extends all the way to the other boat and she jumps into the water. Lily checks on Xeldarix, whose face burns were healed in the middle of the battle. This has her very wary of Uqaviel as if waiting to be hit again. It seems Xeldarix has no idea who the devils were referring to when the big devil had left the grove. Xeldarix is given a secret chocolate croissant. Fargrim starts triage. They're all stable and just require rest. The strange blue creatures, Giblons, scamper away whenever Fargrim approaches someone they are with and return when he move on. Then he goes to check on his friends. When Viona returns, they discuss returning to the grove. She is not happy with Uqaviel and his invisibility shenanigans. They head back with Erin and Jarram joining them. Hostages are no longer required since Viona no longer has the means to offer them the best protection. With some polymorphing and angels flying, the group makes it back to the grove in one trip. At the grove, discussions continued:
- Part of Xeldarix’s situation is explained.
- The Chanty and Viona’s acknowledgement of one another.
- They will move against Ranbur first by Espionage if possible.
- Source magic and taking time to claim it.
- Viona has a meeting with the Generals at the end of the month.
- Harek will probably challenge Karl to a game of sorts.
- Viona memories Karl’s speaking stone sigils and will use the message “Clear skies for the Golden Flame” and expect “Strong winds for the sea devils” before they openly communicate if Viona gets a stone.
On the ship Wave takes the lead on deck with Karl supporting the crew and Fargrim supports Ten with the injured.
On the flight back Lily checks in with Xeldarix. She’s struggling the situation right now and Lily comforts her. They head to the main area of the mansion to relax afterwards.
Ten and Fargrim talk once the crew has been seen to. They talk about Ten not getting any new memories. Though the Captain has insisted on a change in protocol that includes more prayers for healing instead of lightning. This leads to discussion on the Captain and her current condition. They talk about the Thane Key. Fargrim asks if they go to explore this location so that he can be notified so he can join the expedition. Afterwards Fargrim heads to the shore with the help of the crew to row him there.
As the boat approaches the cove, Karl goes to see Erin. They talk about the meeting and how it went pretty well despite the attack. Erin is struggling with her situation though and she’s hit a low as a result. Karl reassures and comforts her. They are going to see the Prince of water soon. The discussion moves to what they might mean for the group an what they’ll have to do. They also have back up plans if the Prince of Water can’t help them. Erin reveals that Viona’s bloodline is very powerful. The rope that she used on Erin was alive and a part of her. She encourages Karl to keep growing his bloodline to start developing some unique abilities like she does. By the end of the conversation they discuss heading for a port before the Prince to stock up a little. Also the idea of going back to finish raiding the witch grove or possibly go treasure hunting with the map from shatterhul or the Dwarven key. Erin also tells Karl Yura tried to contact her in the fight. Afterwards once the ship moors Erin and Karl go to check on the crew before looking at heading to the shore. Karl walks across the water and Erin swims.
At 2pm Fargrim enters the manor to find Lily and Xeldarix in the main area. They talk about reaching out to Simone to check for when her party will be. Fargrim exits the manor quickly make contact with the young seer, though he forgets the main reason he contacted her which was to find out about the party. After going back to talk to Lily before heading back outside again to go and find Karl. Once again in the cover Fargrim sends a message to Karl with the sending stone to find out he’s just seeing the crew and will be heading to shore shortly. Then he contacts Simone about the party for real this time. Her party is on the 20th.
At 2:30pm Karl arrives on the shore. He and Fargrim briefly talk about hell and the drow that are continually attacking the group randomly. This leads to discussing the tense situation Uqaviel, Xeldarix and the group is in right now with the angels fighting. Afterwards they head inside to see Lily and the angels. The group discusses:
- Glasya, Queen of the Fifth layer or Hell who likely sent the latest attack.
- The party on the 20th.
- Erin’s situation. From their current location Erin believes the prince is 2-4 days sailing away depending on the weather.
- Going back to the grove and contacting Inden. Maybe saving some of the statues.
- Should they involve the Muden Navy in the pirate issues? At the very least Karl needs a spy master.
At 5:45pm Karl checks with everyone about the plans for tomorrow. They will fly to the grove while Erin and her crew sail to Brechlen together. Then they’ll go back to Brechlen for the resupply of the ship and to be there for Simone’s party. Then they’ll sail to the Prince of Water. They want to keep a low profile while in town considering Tatiana is doing sensitive work with Galloway. Karl puts a shield spell into Lily’s ring. At 6pm Karl and Erin return to the boat to arrange sleeping areas for the group. They arrange for some of the crew to ship a little to make room. Enna and Wave are checking on the crew and managing the boat. Erdad is cooking. After this Erin and Karl retire to her cabin. Karl takes the desk to work on his spells while waiting for dinner. At 7pm the manor disappears and everyone spills out. Lily lands on top of Xeldarix as they spill out as Fargrim is suddenly next to the pair. Then Fargrim signals for a tender. Lily gets her own tender and flies everyone to the boat. Then Lily finds their lodging for the night, setting up Xeldarix in a corner to brood and then does some scrying. She starts with Lorenah. Lily sees Lorenah on the deck of a ship with the trolls circled around her. She is holding the net she was working on. There is a badly hurt man with her in the centre of this circle. The man is clearly nervous and wants to run, but he has a badly hurt leg that would make that hard. Lorenah throws the net, catches him and the lightning convulse through him and takes the net back, demanding he stand to try again. He does so. She misses and berates him for ‘moving’. She tries again and this time he moves to be caught by the net. This time when she takes the net off him, he’s not moving. She kicks him a few times and orders the trolls to take him away. She also wants them to “ Bring in the next one”. She fiddles with the net and gets annoyed when the sigils look like they are fading. She brings out a second net and tests it on the new individual. Lily watches this until the scry ends. Lily then realises she forgot to get the promised drawing from Viona’s people about Ranbar. She attempts to scry on him anyway without it. She sees a minotaur with extra horns and has an element of fire to them. She sees him mid-fight and is raiding a ship of dwarves. He has trolls and half-giants fighting with him. They give him a wide berth in the fight. This is what Lily watches for the whole time. Even when the fight is done, he insists on the surrendered Dwarves fighting him in one on one combat. They plead for their lives and promise to serve and he stabs them through the heart anyway. Afterwards Lily sketches a picture of him, which she does a great job on. Erdad brings up a vegetarian stew with bread rolls for the officers dinner as Lily finishes. After dinner Lily shows them the picture and fills them in on what she saw. They discuss this. Erin suspects Ranbur is testing Lorenah with a mission currently. Erin says lightning messes with her water senses that her and Enna have. Which Lorenah would know. Lily believes that Erin is the intended net-ee. Ranbur uses slaves like Kegsteeler. He only has humans on his ship as slaves or they have a great position of power. They consider talking to the man Lorenah was hurting with the net to try and get information, but they are cautious of this idea. Afterwards Fargrim retires to bed and realising how tight quarters are and worried about his stuff being stolen, he wants to keep his stuff in her quarters. Wave explains the penalty for stealing and how that is not an issue on their boat. Which makes Fargrim reconsider. Karl and Lily also soon head to bed as well. 16th of Deismir 1524 Everyone gets up for 6am. Wave is rousing the crew for training/yoga. Lily joins in. Fargrim doesn’t and instead prays his time praying for Erin but again seems to go unheard. Then checks in with Ten. Fargrim is curious and asks Ten about his hobbies. Fargrim makes a recommendation and they get into the difference between hobbies and entertainment. He designates the hobby of being a moral booster. Fagrim now considers Ten’s new hobby of slapping people on the back Erin’s problem. Karl casts private sanctum on the boat to help keep Erin safe for the day from scrying. At 7:30am Karl messages the dragon brothers to let them know they are leaving. Erin and Karl say goodbye with promises to message one another and hopes the other will be safe. Erin requests if a fiend is at the tree, she asks he not try and talk to them. The group flies off via the leylines towards the place of power Lily found. In the boat, after they are many miles away, Karl mentions that Yura tried to contact Erin. The group definitely decides they want to try and free the slaves there. At 9am the group arrives at the platform. Karl feather falls down, Lily turns Fargrim into a giant eagle and he flies Lily down while the angels follow. As they arrive at the entrance Lily tells everyone about the pit trap in the intersection. They try to stealth in. As Lily moves in she can hear the gentle hiss of someone talking in Draconic. She peeks forward to see six of the larger Kobolds sitting around in armour, having a chat. Lily signals the group to the threat. Lily draws them out so Karl can fireball them and the fight is on. One kobold goes for backup as the rest fight on. Throughout the battle the group is relatively unharmed, but Lily does get stuck in the pit trap as she misremembers where it was exactly. The rats last time were not heavy enough to make the trap work which influenced how Lily remembered. Xeldarix goes to stop the Kobold getting help. The group is swarmed by rats, some get dropped into the trap as Xeldarix helps Lily out. Once they have dealt with that encounter they discuss how to move forward. They use Aeyrn to scout out the area. The area the rats came from is full of garbage and waste. Though there are toys and such for the rats that suggest they are pets. Lily sends Xochtli to help Aeyrn. Meanwhile the group wedges a spear into the hinge of the trap to make it easier for people who fall in to get out. As the group gets ready to move on and Aeyrn is sent ahead to scout, she hears more Kobolds coming. They stealth up to try and meet the group. However, at the end of the last battle Lily has summoned some spirit guardians that give the group away. Another fight begins. It is very quickly over and a blood burst runs through the group. It hits Fargrim first and then goes to Lily. As the blood fades, the group believes that all enemies in the area have been dealt with for now.
