Session 58: Heaven and Hell Collides Report

General Summary

10th of Anarire 1524     Erin arrives at the blacksmith and is introduced to Karl’s mother. Things are a little tense but in the end Erin is invited for dinner tomorrow night. Erin offers to walk Karl home after his day in the forge. Dinner and the walk are accepted by various parties. Karl and Saryea are sent back to work while Erin goes shopping in the short time work is happening for the rest of the day.   Afterwards she walks Karl home and fills him in on her trip. The storms, the wreckages, getting a meeting with Viona’s second in charge, getting the letter, being attacked on the way back by people sent by Lorenah. Karl tells her in turn about some of the things that happened to him while she was gone.   When they return Dinner is served and the group chats. Erin is filled in what happened with a book and a curse. They discuss what they want to do over the course of the week. Karl will continue working at the forge to finish his training, Lily and Fargrim will do their own research and Erin might offer support with the Lolth guild.   After dinner Fargrim communes, Karl catches up with Erin and Lily is reading her book before doing some scrying. Lily fails to scry on the Master but does get one of the minions. She learns that they are attacking the next day. But doesn’t learn who or where. She gives Caramella a note and has a copy out the front of each door.   11th of Anarire 1524   It’s another warm day. Karl is up at 6am. About half an hour into Karl and Erin having breakfast, Lily comes down for breakfast and asks if they got her note. They discuss a plan of action where Karl (disguised as an elf) will go with Erin to the boat while Lily goes to see Galloway and sends Fargrim to the temple of Niera. They agree to meet near the boat before going their separate ways. They give Caramella the day off and she gives them a way to get in contact with her if necessary through the Sapphire Thorn.   Lily goes upstairs to wake up Fargrim after Karl leaves. Lily updates Fargrim on what has happened. He agrees to go check in with Salma. Not long after that they also leave the manor.  


On the way to the ship Karl and Erin have some chats as he gets her up to speed with the whole situation.   Once they arrive at the ship Erin gives Karl the letter from Viona and the instructions to open it.  
To the next fool in the long line of King of Fools,   My lieutenant has met with a little sea elf Captain that claims to have a connection with you and has made a few nice offerings in order to try and gain favour with myself. Apparently you’re requesting a meeting of sorts. Interesting that you approach one General and not the others. Understandable in many ways I suppose given their natures.   A month on your little throne, making no impact that I can see on your kingdom. I am curious as to why you act now and your intentions. So I am willing to meet with you. I will not meet in any port. However, a place outside of any port on a beach, bank or small island I am happy to consider. Your little elf should tell you about the box and the fact you may send me one letter. Give me a location and a date. I would need possibly a week or so to get to the location, but I have many things to do. I will not be waiting with baited breath for your reply and bend to your whims or anything so daft. You have your little followers, don’t over inflate your ego thinking of yourself in high regard. I will put a cut off on a possible date of the end of Deismir. If you haven’t the balls to meet by then, then I don’t really care to meet with you.   Upon our meeting we will discuss your plans as King and your intentions with my nations. I will be taking some precautions for my safety. I am sure you’ll understand and do something similar. However, as long as your intentions are peaceful, I shall not purposefully harm you or your crew.   General Viona Zarr
    Karl tells Erin about their flying boat and how that could be used to get to a meeting point quickly. They discuss places of power and a few other things before Karl offers to identify the strange orb Erin had found in her travels recently. The orb has Dwarven runes that roughly translate to “Key” and it's a very old Dwarven.   Thain Key of Silvertome. A power source used to run many of their constructs and creations in their strongholds. Removing it will often send the area into lock down as magical things lose their power, closing the area up. A Thain often removes it as a last line of defence against attack.   Erin and Karl leave for the forge to go and notify his family he will be running late today.  
Lily goes and sees Lord Galloway. After a wait in line she is able to see him. Lily tells him what she can about the possible attack that is due to take place at some point this morning.   Afterwards, Lily and Xeldarix make their way to the docks. Lily had turned Xeldarix into a small bird to get around quicker while Lily became a Celestial Imp. This seems to trigger a lot of anxiety for Xeldarix, causing Lily to try and get to the dock quicker. Lily takes the time when they land to comfort Xeldarix once she is herself again.   Once they’re able to move out onto the dock, Lily finds Wave sitting on the pier, looking out at the sea. Wave shows her to the ship. When they arrive Wave enquiries if Erin is onboard, but it seems that she left about half an hour before this with a visitor.   Lily goes to a nearby cafe to sit and wait.  
At 8:45am Karl and Erin arrive back at the ship. They discuss plans for dealing with the attack. The option of Erin disguising herself as Karl to see if she can draw their attacks. They keep themselves busy while waiting for the others.  
Fargrim arrives at the temple where Salma is giving a sermon. He stays and listens. She finishes at 8:30am and there are another 20 minutes of people hanging around to speak with her. Once Fargrim is able to catch her he updates her on the situation.   Salma agrees to send Saryea while Salma stays to look over the temple. Saryea speaks with Fargrim and is happy to help. They leave to find the harbour master to try and find Erin’s ship. After some questions and pressing for details, Fargrim and Saryea are given the details about where Erin’s ship is docked. They run into Lily on the way to the ship and she points out which one it is. Fargrim and Saryea head towards the ship.   They see Ten on deck with some crew and wait for a bit before approaching Ten. Afterwards, Fargrim knocks on the captain's door.  
At 9am Fargrim and Saryea are invited into the Captain’s room to talk with Karl and Erin. It seems the groups were a little confused about what to do when near the boat. They decide this would be a good time to use telepathy bond on the group anyway. Enna is retrieved. Saryea offers to go and get Lily but is told no. Instead Fargrim goes, which makes Saryea super upset since she wasn’t allowed to go alone but yet Fargrim was. Karl makes a good point about not wanting to have to tell their mum if Saryea got ambushed.   While Fargrim is gone, Karl explains the plan to Enna. Shortly afterwards Fargrim returns with Lily. Karl finishes his ritual for the spell to link most of the group together. The group recaps the plan. Erin will be disguised as Karl, Karl will be invisible and everyone else will also wander the area to see if they can draw out their attackers. Enna is on standby with the bond to rally the crew in case of an attack. The group agrees if they aren’t attacked within the hour they go on with their day.   The group heads out into the dock area. Most people in the group are finding it hard to tell if they're being followed or other people are just in the area due to the crowd getting heavier as the day really gets started for the shops. At 9:30 (20 minutes into the hour spells) nothing has happened yet.   The group changes tact and Lily leads the group towards the temple of Avani. The telepathic bond fades before they arrive. When they arrive Erin goes down to the secret downstairs area. Fargrim stays outside. Lily checks in with Salise. Everything seems okay. Erin and Karl return from the hidden area. Karl recasts the bond while they’re out the temple. Fargrim contacts Salma to let her know everything is still okay so far.   At 10:15am Karl finishes casting the bond. The group agrees to get on with their day but to keep an eye out for trouble.  
As Fargrim and Lily make their way to the mage guild, Fargrim checks in on Xeldarix. Fargrim does his best to explain how Lolth is bad faith and how the thieves guild have been led astray. Xeldarix mentions that being held by the Lolth rogues guild had brought back some bad memories.   When they arrive at the library Fargrim invests 300g into his research and Lily invests 100g into hers. Fargrim is looking into Astral Plane matters and Lily is looking into Hell and the planes there.   After a day of research they get some food on the way back to the manor since Caramella will not be cooking for them tonight. When they get back to the manor Lily does some drills with Xeldarix and Uqaviel. Fargrim is done for the day but Lily does wait for Karl to return from his family dinner.  
Throughout the course of the day Erin keeps an eye on Karl, but is banished from the forge as she is blamed for Karl’s poor attention to his work.   After work, Karl and Saryea catch up. Saryea tells him the temple of Neria was attacked. They had planted bombs in the pews. The temple being on high alert meant there was minimal injuries and damage. Karl collects Erin from the shop and they go to the family home for dinner.   The dinner is an interesting affair. Clara is hostile at times to Erin, while Peter is happy to meet her. Karl learns that Erin is from a coral forest off an island in the Great Bay called Zweilund. In the end Clara sulks and Peter takes over the conversation with Karl and Erin.   At 8:30pm Karl and Erin leave. When they arrive at the manor Karl starts to put up his alarms around the entry and exit points. He sees Lily sparing outside with the angels. Lily finishes with them and approaches. Karl updates her on the temple being attacked. They discuss Deiz and making sure to get her back to the mountain with supplies.   Shortly afterwards everyone heads to bed to get some rest for the night. Karl does some sendings to Steve and Simone before bed.   12th of Anarire 1524   It is the 12th of Anarire. Karl and Fargrim are up first for training and research. Karl asks Fargrim about the Silvertome clan of Dwarfs. They discuss the option of putting the apprentices onto researching it for them. During this time Fargrim shares with Karl and Erin that Uqaviel needs help and about his confusion about what Haelyn is playing at with all this.   Karl will head to the mage guild before the forge to send Deiz and the supplies back to the mountain. He also shares that Simone misses the group. Karl also grabs a messenger ring for Steve from Lily as she finishes attempting to scry on various people unsuccessfully.   After breakfast and before leaving, Lily and Fargrim both attune to the rings as well. Lily leaves the Oathbow for Lyra in her room. After that they head to the library.  
Karl and Erin walk to the mage guild. Aeyrn notices that Erin seems to be drawing some eyes today for some reason. Once at the guild Karl meets Abigail, also known as Gale of Black Ice Bay. It seems there is some disappointment over Deiz not being able to take anyone with her while arrangements are made to get her back to her husband on the mountain with supplies. Karl fills Steve in on the developing situation with the Lolth Thieves Guild.   After a small chat, Karl goes up with the group and Deiz is sent back to the mountain with supplies. Afterwards Karl and Erin go up to see June. Karl pays for his goggles and June presses him for information about his strange behaviour recently. Karl tells her enough and Karl leaves with Erin after learning Fargrim’s boots will be finished on the 25th.   Karl and Erin head for the forge. They arrive at the forge at 8:30am.  
A few hours into the afternoon, Lily gets up and heads down another row of shelves to return her current book and pick up another. Then there’s a quick yelp followed by a few thuds. Lily’s on the ground, surrounded by papers that seem to have come out of a very old book. Some books got caught on her jacket and were pulled off the shell. Some of the pages have crumbled as she has tried to pick them up.   It seems to be beyond repair. It was called "The Infrastructure of Mechanus" by Cedric Rutherford. Lily promises to see if she can find another copy.  
Both groups return to the manor about 4:45pm. They arrange to fly over the city to try and locate the Lolth Thieves Guild. Karl turns into a giant eagle and take Erin and Lily with him. Lily uses a locate object spell on Xeldarix’s spellbook. To do the circuit Lily wants it takes 4 castings to do the circuit. Lily does not get a ping on the spellbook. It takes 2 more castings to get a ping. They narrow it down to an abandoned in Longrove.   Once back at the manor they discuss plans over dinner. Then takes some time to do personal things before bed.   13th of Anarire 1524   13th of Anarire comes around. A cooler 20C day today. Karl asks Fargrim to prepare the spell silence. Meanwhile Lily tries to scry on the enemy again. This time she is successful she watches them keep watch out of a window. Lily hears about an attack and warns Salma via the rings.   Karl leaves with Erin at 6:30am to have breakfast with his family. Fargrim and Lily have breakfast together and she fills him in on the scrying.   The group starts their work for the day and Salma’s voice comes through the rings. The temple was attacked. Saryea is badly hurt and Salma is also hurt. They are both blinded, but Salma did better against their poison. Lily notifies Erin and Erin rushes to Karl’s forge to tell him.  
At 11:30am, while working at the forge, Karl’s familiar hears a commotion from the shop area and upon investigating sees Erin and Clara arguing. Erin gives the family the news about Saryea and then a page from the temple arrives to confirm these details.   Erin acting as a relay, allows for a discussion between Karl and Lily/Fargrim about what they are going to do. Clara closes the shop to see Saryea and Karl heads for the manor. Erin heads to her boat to rally the troops.  
At noon everyone is at the manor, except for Erin and her crew. They discuss possible plans. Steve is notified of what has happened but he is unable to join them. The group decides to try a sewer approach. After Erin arrives with Enna, Wave and a Dwarf named Bartharm, they head to the Broken wand to ask about sewer entrances at 1pm.   Bartharm is wearing work clothes, and smells of the sea. He has deep brown skin and deep-set hazel eyes. He has short, straight dark brown hair. He has a medium-length dark brown beard. He has a couple tattoos. He is 163 years old (adult), 4 ft, 6 in (137 cm) tall, and weighs 160 lbs (73 kg).   After getting the information they need at the inn, they head to the entrance. The group realises they are drawing some attention as they had for the entrance. Fargrim uses his wand to improve Lily’s dexterity. Lily unlocks the sewer entrance and the group heads down.   As Lily looks around the corner she can see a large group of 10 wererats sitting around the large kiln and coal bin sit in the north-east corner of the room, and several adventurer corpses are scattered throughout the room. The wererats are talking among themselves. However as the group tries to be quiet about their decent, they are noticed by the wererats.   Lily goes out and speaks with them to negotiate passage. They agree if the group pays a gold per person. Karl messages one of the wererats to ask about the people the wererats are worried about. He learns they are worried about the rats that became spiders. Karl convinces them to tell Lily about the spiders and how to find them for a little more gold. A total of 13 gold is paid. Lily casts Pass Without a Trace as they move through the sewers.   When the group is nearly at their destination they come across a room that has four creatures standing against the back wall. Four skeletal humanoids wearing dark hooded robe stand against the wall. They have eyes that appear as small pinpoints of reddish light. There is an interesting door between them that resembles a crypt door. Lily uses her Divine Sense to know they are definitely undead and attacks the things.   Lily makes the first attempt to hit but misses. Fargrim summons his spiritual weapon and does better though. Bartharm fires his crossbow and seems to get in a vulnerable spot. However this upsets the creature and Bartharm disappears from sight.  
Bartharm feels the sudden movement around him where the ground disappears and he suddenly lands in water. He sinks slightly before he realises he's suddenly in water. His feet don't touch the ground. The area is dark around him, but with his darkvision he can see pillars around him in every direction. It stinks or rot and filth. He swims to a nearby pillar and he pulls himself out. The pillar is very slippery and covered in something foul but for now he's mostly out of the water. As he swears he hears the sound of something snapping in the distance. It sounded like a very large jaw which shuts him up.  
Lily carries on her attack, inspired by Bartharm’s good blow to hit well herself. Enna and Wave run into the fight and position themselves. One skeleton hits Lily cand causes her to lose her focus on Pass Without a Trace. Erin runs into the fight and demands her Bosun back. One skeleton attacks Enna but they seem very focused on trying to make Erin disappear as well. Fargrim continues his assault with Wave backing him up.   Karl uses his Fire Bolt spell to finish off one of the skeletons. Erin dodges attacks and steels her resolve as they continue to try and banish her to wherever Bartharm went. Lily lands some good hits and so does Enna. However, the skeleton’s persist to focus on Erin and eventually she is able to resist the effect and disappears.  
Bartharm hears a splash to the NW of him before a few moments later Erin loudly calls out "Bartharm?!"  
Xeldarix throws herself into attacking the skeletons that make people disappear. Wave is their next target, however when he disappears two Ettins appear.  
As Wave lands in the water, He can hear to the North of him Erin calling out for Bartharm as another splash lands behind in the water. The water is slimy and the smell of rot and filth is thick in the air. There is something slightly off about Erin's calls as if there is a faint slur to her voice.  
Fargrim mumbles about the mess they are in as he comes close to destroying a skeleton. The Ettin freaks out and calls Enna and Lily bugs while trying to squish them, but only hits Lily twice while Enna dodges out the way.  
Wave looks around wildly, then disengages from the creature to swim towards Erin’s voice. He makes it to her. Bartharm encourages them to climb onto the pillars since there are beasties in the water. The creature that came through is hard to distinguish with darkvision. It has a a very strange nose and pointy ears. Erin states she needs out of the water. The pointed ear creature casts a fireball at the group, but only hurts Wave.  
Karl banishes one of the Ettins but the other resists him. Fargrim almost disappears due to a skeleton but Lily helps him focus and he resists the effect. Lily uses the ring to communicate with Erin and finds out they are still alive but Erin feels funny. Lily kills one of the skeletons and injures Ettin before healing herself a little. Enna goes mental at one of the Ettins while demanding her crewmates back. Xeldarix supports her by attacking the Ettin as well. Lily resists being sent away. Fargrim destroys one skeleton and injuries another. The Ettin responds by hitting Enna with its Morningstar.  
Wave asks where they are as they swim towards Bartharm. Bartharm pulls Erin out of the water and onto the pillar. Erin is grateful as she looks at whatever fired a spell at them. It fires another and gets Bartharm and Wave. However, this seems to have drawn the attention of large dire crocodiles. One goes for the pointy eared creature and the other two swim for Erin and her crew.  
Karl Fire Bolts the Ettin dead. Lily tries to kill the last skeleton but misses. Instead Fargrim takes care of it. Xeldarix asks where the others went. Fargrim communicates with Erin and asks where she is. She says underground with bad water and something casting spells at them. Fargrim passes this on.  
Wave climbs out of the water. Bartharm gets Erin to move around the pillar to the other side and she says they need to find land. The strange humanoid, with a spray of water he disappears out of the water and is on a small ledge now slightly out of the water. The large dire crocodile breathes steam out at the humanoid, while another does the same to Erin. This hurts them both. Erin lashes out with her water whip she had readied.  
Karl looks over the skeletons and suspects that the undead were raised for a specific purpose. He looks through the star at the door. It says the "Tomb of Hassan Al Debodi" but with the star it is crossed out and It says underneath "Crocodile Feeding Den". As Karl looks around the room he sees opposite the door is a door hidden by an illusion that says "Tomb of Hassan Al Debodi" and it is not crossed out. So the skeletons would have been watching the door in front of them.   Lily asks Erin if there are crocodiles with her which she confirms. Lily tries to open the door but it is locked. She quickly unlocks the door. Enna rushes beyond the door and down the stairs. Xeldarix follows Lily. Fargrim follows and brings his spiritual weapon as far as he can.  
Wave freezes some water near Bartharm and orders everyone away. Bartharm encourages the retreat which Erin reluctantly agrees with as she follows. Erin seems to believe there is something else here and they should leave. The strange humanoid attacks the dire crocodile attacking him while the crocodile bites and claws back at him. One dire crocodile is swimming after Wave. The other bites at Erin and claws at her.  
Karl runs after the group. Lily takes a moment to dig out her folding boat and runs after the group with Xeldarix Enna gets to the bottom of the stairs. At the bottom of the steps she sees water. It smells rotten and full of filth. She can see some Sahuagin at the bottom of the stairs. Enna intimidates the Sahuagin, just holding her sword up high and shouting a loud, deafening roar. Those who see Enna run. Fargrim continues to run after the group.  
Wave taunts the crocodiles as he makes out of the deeper water into knee high water. Bartharm swims in front of the croc and tries to smash it in the face, screaming obscenities but misses. He tells his Captain to keep going without him, which she does and threatens him with returning if he doesn’t follow her. The large crocodile dashes to catch up with Wave and Erin. Meanwhile Bartharm is clawed at. The strange humanoid continues to attack the crocodile and is clawed back for its efforts.  
Karl dashes and misty steps as he races to try and find his crew. Lily runs down the rest of the steps with Xeldarix. As Enna runs around the corner she sees a lot of Sahuagin, including a Baron Sahuagin. She tries to intimidate them again, which works on all of them but the baron. The Baron moves up to attack Enna. The others stay back and cower. Fargrim casts cure wounds on Enna as he moves up.  
Wave makes a comment about hoping Karl is on his way with the others as he attacks the crocodile. Bartharm runs from his crocodile, but it catches up to him and breathes steam over him. Erin punches the crocodile, healing herself a little as her Divine Wrath gets the better of her and she rages and grows in size. The crocodile tries to swim away from Erin but Erin hits it so hard it can’t move away from her. In response it breathes steam over Erin, undoing the healing she has done with the gloves. The strange humanoid can’t seem to hit his enemy while the crocodile brings its prey down and the longsword falls into the water from the limp body.  
Karl turns and lets lose a Freezing Sphere on the Sahuagin, killing off most of them. Five plus the Baron survive. He continues to run and look for those who are missing with the hopes Enna can finish it off. Lily dashes down past the mostly frozen fish people as Xeldarix follows. Enna does come very close to finishing it off but it still has a little bit more life in it as she hits it with her sword. The Baron responds by hutting Enna with his Trident. Fargrim continues to pour healing into Enna, who is fighting the mighty beast.  
Wave encourage the group to continue drawing the crocodiles into the shallows in hopes it will slow down. Erin struggles but does follow the instructions. The crocodiles catches up to Wave and Bartharm with no issue and attacks them, hitting them with a lot of damage. The other crocodile has no interest in the crew as it eats it’s prey.  
Karl, Xeldarix, Fargrim and Lily move into knee deep water while Enna finishes the baron off. They keep running and looking for their missing people.  
Wave suggests they spread up, which Bartharm agrees with. However Erin has had enough and moves up to attack the crocodile, trying to stun it as she manages to at least get one hit in. She tells the other to run. The crocodile focuses on Erin, ripping into her. Meanwhile the other one attacks Bartharm. He’s not looking good which results in Wave issuing a challenge to the crocodile which it resists. Bartharm continues to try and run.   Erin lets loose a bunch of punches but it’s like she’s not seeing her target right. She just keeps missing. Then she suddenly starts to scream about Kegsteeler as she looks at a nearby pillar. She claims he is behind this. The crocodile uses this distraction to get some good kits on Erin.  
The group continues to run. Lily gets Xeldarix to fly her forward. Fargrim and Lily get a panicked message from Erin about Kegsteeler being here and that Karl should stay away. Fargrim casts Sending to warn Karl.  
While the crocodile Wave tried to challenge resisted, it goes for Wave anyway and brings him almost down in one go. Wave can’t see whatever Erin is looking at and is continued as he stabs at the crocodile attacking him. Bartharm also confesses he can’t see what Erin is seeing and he also attacks the crocodile with Wave. Erin grows annoyed and frantic that no one can see what she sees and gets every hit in on the creature, healing herself some. It tries to run from Erin and she gets one last punch in which knocks it out. Meanwhile the crocodile gets another hit on Wave.  
Karl is confused by the new information and finds it highly unlikely that Kegsteeler is here. They continue to move and Lily heals herself a little as Xeldarix flies her forward. They arrive to see Erin punch the largest crocodile with spikes coming out of it's back in the snout. It backs off and tries to leave. However, as the croc tries to get away from Erin she punches it's side and it stops moving. Wave and Bartharm call for help from the others as they arrive.   The crocodile that is still up tries to get Wave so it can escape with something but Wave dances out of the way. Karl misty steps closer and uses his wand to fire magic missile at the crocodile while telling Erin to get back. Lily tries to reassure Erin no one is there while sending a gilding bolt at the crocodile but misses. Enna continues to try and catch up while Xeldarix strikes the crocodile and it stops moving.   Erin is confused and angry as she attacks a pillar, insisting Karl stay back and Kegsteeler is right here. Fargrim tries to get her to stop, but it falls on death ears. In the end Lily casts Calm Emotions on Erin and she can’t resist it. Her punches slow and she sway in the water as she shrinks back to her usual size. She slur heavily as she speaks.   Meanwhile a burst of black lightning from the body of the crocodile next to Wave, Bartharm and Xeldarix. The lightning gets as far as Erin’s swaying form before it dies down. This has upset Xeldarix, causing her to whine and cuddle Little. Enna approaches Erin, who is still staring at the pillar. Lily moves over to check on Xeldarix. Enna and Karl help Erin out of the area. Karl examines the pillar through the star before leaving.   Everyone heads out and up to the stairs. Once there Erin seems a little better but is jumpy. She is no longer swaying or slurring. Just seems really jumpy. The group assesses their situation. They take a short rest. While they rest Karl shares the area down there might have been a dragon’s lair at some point. There were ruins of madness and connection to the sea. Karl makes the connection those who have a strong connection with the sea were affected by the water in some way.   Erin is examined and while she tries to pretend to be fine, Lily can see this isn’t true. They decide to have a brief look at the tomb before heading back. They will try again in the morning. Lily tries to heal Erin but it doesn’t seem to have an affect. Fargrim tries to Remove Curse but that doesn’t seem to help either. Lily uses the wand of detect magic to see that Abjuration is affecting Erin.   Fargrim uses his key so they can look at the tomb. Seeing that it is undisturbed and nothing down there, they leave it for now and search the skeletons before they start to head back.   On the way back they are ambushed by some hags that were waiting invisibly. A spell gets Xeldarix, Lily and Bartharm making them Frightened. Wave and Enna attack back. Lily dodges, shivering and closing her eyes. With this she is able to overcome her fear and the spell. One of the hags shoots out a lightning bolt hitting Erin, Enna, Wave and Uqaviel. Another hag casts Eyebite and puts Enna to sleep. Fargrim calls down a Flame Strike on two hags which hurts them and one loses focus on Bartharm’s fear and he’s fine now.   Xeldarix starts to cry and just curls up into a ball of feathers in the middle of the room. The feathers start to glow with the light of the light spell. Another hag lets loose a Lightning Bolt that huts Xeldarix, Lily, Wave and Karl. Erin aks if these are real, she seems very confused as she tries to punch the empty space in front of her. A hag mocks Wave. Another hag leds loose another Lightning Bolt hitting Xeldarix and Karl.   Uqaviel reacts violently to being attacked, nearly killing one of the hags with two attacks as he advances on them. The hag is blinded by Uqaviel who complains the woman is in his way. The hag tries to insult lily but is taken back by her absorbing the lightning. Bartharm charges into battle but can’t seem to hit one. Karl kills one hag with Fire Bolt. He tries to direct Erin, but she is really struggling to figure out what is real and what isn’t. Another hag lets loose a Lightning Bolt and hits Fargrim, Xeldarix and Karl. The hag tries to mock Erin's aim but Erin is paying too much attention to Karl to care.   Wave is distracted by the comments from the hag but does manage to push past and get a hit in. Lily tries to comfort Xeldarix, but the battle is distracting as she attacks one of the hags. Then Lily focuses and summons a Hollyphant spirit next to Xeldarix to comfort her and help hurt the hags. The hag tries to make comment about Fargrim's pathetic fire but the quip falls flat. The hag with Eyebite up moves the focus to Wave and this makes him fall asleep.   Fargrim shakes Enna awake before casting his Spiritual Weapon to attack a hag. The light coming off Xeldarix gets brighter as she continues to cry and sob. The light becomes so bright that it's painful for everyone around her. This kills 4 of the hags, critically injuring 4 of them and all of her friends. This wakes Wave up from his sleep. Xeldarix peaks out of her wings and is looking around looking scared but no longer terrified. The familiar were saved by their casters quickly sending them to their pocket dimensions. Erin jumps slightly and punches near the North Exit to nothing the group can see.   Two hags disappear from sight. Uqvaiel kills the one that attacked him and checks to see if the group wants all hags dead. Bartharm gets a hit on one of the invisible hags that tries to run from him. Karl confirms none can be allowed to escape as he uses Synaptic Static to kill two moves, one that was invisible which becomes visible. Wave takes the star from Karl and goes to kill the last hag that was trying to get away.   Uqaviel takes Xeldarix away so the hags can be killed and blood can be shared. A burst of Green comes from one hag and is absorbed by Lily, Bartharm and Wave. Karl casts Dispel Magic on Erin and finally removes whatever effect was on her. Once they are all dead Lily hurries after Xeldarix while the rest of the group slowly follows.   Xeldarix is distressed since she hurt her friends. Lily comforts her. While they talk Xeldarix points out a scrying orb that is focused on Lily. The group heads back to the manor. Erin hovers at Karl's side fussing over him a little more; she sees he is as hurt as he looked. By the time they get back to the manor it is 3pm. They take a short rest. After the short rest Karl takes the pirates, including Erin, back to their boat. Fargrim hands out lemon cakes to everyone at the end of the rest, including the pirates.   While they’re gone Fargrim speaks with Uqaviel while Lily reads the dictionary to Xeldarix.  
At 4:30pm Karl returns to the manor. Fargrim is cooking with Caramella and Karl is copying spells.   At 6pm the group has dinner and while there isn’t much in the way of talk, Xeldarix and Uqaviel seem to be reacting to something. Xeldarix covers her nose and mouth while Uqaviel makes a face before leaving the room. Lily slides under the table with Xeldarix while Fargrim chases after Uqaviel. Karl starts looking around out of windows using the rod.   Xeldarix complains about a bad spell and Uqaviel explains there are fiends in the city. One is very strong. The group quickly start to search the manor to see if they are close. However, after a search they discover nothing. They talk about being cautious tonight. They alert Steve, Salma and Erin to the problem. Salma relays she is now staying with the Moller family while she recovers. Erin and Steve are concerned. The group reassures them they probably don’t need to head to the manor to support them.   The group theories that the fiends are here for Wellmore’s apprentices. They try to convince Uqaviel to keep watch over the jail but he refuses. Unless Xeldarix is coming with him, he is not leaving the manor. In the end Fargrim starts to journal, Lily heads to bed early and Karl is scribing spells.   At 9pm, as many of the group are getting ready for bed, there is a loud crashing sound outside followed by a knock on the door. Karl goes to the door, speaking to them from 10 ft back from the door and not opening it, speaks with whoever knocked. They claim to be from a messenger service with a need to see a lady of the house about a deceased relative. Karl quickly gets everyone ready as he stalls the visitor. Eventually he invites two fancy looking Brecht men in. Fargrim and Karl keep an eye on them until Lily and Xeldarix come down in their armour. One of the men immediately seems to recognise Xeldarix and Karl takes a quick moment to look through the rod to see these are devils in disguise.   A fight starts immediately as they try to get Xeldarix. Karl, Fargrim, Lily and Xeldarix are able to deal with the devils inside. Karl uses his arcane hand while Fargrim banishes one and others attack head on. Lily blesses the group to ensure everyone is at their best for this fight. Meanwhile occasionally the affects of the fight outside are seen or felt. Lily is rather hurt through the fight, Fargrim and Karl is hurt a little as well   In the end Lily sends Xochitl to keep an eye on the battle. Xochitl watches as Uqaviel is knocked back into Phobe's tree before the massive sword is thrusted into Uqaviel, pinning him there through his side, one of his wings seems to slump like it is no longer being held up. The blade has most likely gone through the back of where that connects. As the little bat watches, Uqaviel is using his weapon to try and keep the sword at bay but it is knocked out of his hand.   Karl runs outside once all the devils are dealt with to distract the devil attacking Uqaviel. It is enough to use his arcane hand to pull the blade out and Uqaviel strike the devil from behind, causing his to explode and vanish before Uqaviel collapses in a heap on the group. Lily tries to keep Xeldarix in the house, but she gets around Lily and is rushing out just in time to see uqaviel strike, the enemy explode and Uqaviel collapse.
