Session 5 Report

General Summary

The party carefully picked its way through the ancient Fortress of Storms. After lowering back down to the first floor, they explored the pantry and the chapel, and began gathering bodies for a possible burial. In the chapel they discovered more frescoes, this time of Ancient Gods, showing deities that none of them were aware of, including Alexandria Gaeralagos and Elni Longwind. In the chapel, they also found a hidden passageway to three ancient tombs.   The tombs were described as follows.   The first:

Here lies Queen Sharasha, birthed of clan Nagran, adopted of clan Xilzorwyn, Conqueror of the Mountain, the first Guardian. Vosinaat guide her passage and Sonaat take her soul. She was known for her sword-hand but became renowned for reaching out that hand in friendship to the Elves of the Center.
  The second:
Here lies Queen Merialeth of clan Xilzorwyn, Magister of the Mountain, the first Speaker. When the hand was extended, she accepted. All the knowledge of the elves could not save them when war threatened, but friendship could.
  The third:
Here lies King Amnester the Temperate, the first of both bloods. He ruled with strength and kindness, and united two peoples in truth where there was once only necessity.
These tombs yielded up weapons, armor, and artifacts.   The party then climbed back to the second floor and explored carefully again. They found the upper level of the chapel, and saw indications of movement. Then that movement was shockingly interrupted by a vibrating, half-incorporeal being passing through the wall and striking down something invisible, which slumped to the floor, a gray and lifeless humanoid monster.
