Session 2: Ghosts of Prosperity Report

General Summary

The players set off to Prosperity. Talia bought a clawfoot dinosaur. West persuaded Looey to let him borrow Quickdraw. Tallia was unfamiliar with riding a dinosaur however and it slowed the posse down considerably. The sun was setting as they got to Prosperity.

As they approaced a scream rang out from the abbandoned grocery story. Talia moved into invesitage while the rest of the party moved into the center of town where a massive ant colony was imbedded against the town well. When the posse drew near the ants swarmed and coaleced into the shape of a person. Try as they might to take down this humanoid swarm it simply kept reforming.

Inside the run down store Talia followed som eerie signs to a loose floorboard with where she found an old journal stashed away. The journal was written by the store owners daughter and told about how she had fallen in love with a drifter who came to town. He had stollen some money and was going to ride off for a better life with her to build a better life. Kit's plans were cut short when a former love interest of the grocer's daughter and his lackey attacked him. They tied him down over an ant bed to be eaten alive. They threatened and assaulted anyone who tried to help. Not long after Kit's attackers were found dead, seemingly eaten alive by bugs. Soon more similar deaths occcured. The grocer's daughter was certain Kit's vengeful spirit was to blame. She guessed the best way to lay him to rest was to dig up him body from it's shallow grave beneath the crooked tree and give him a proper burrial in the churchyard. The final entry indicates she was determined to attempt this herself or die trying.
