Session 7: Entering the Spire Report

General Summary

Inside the spire

As Cyrus Akahoshi and Worry Half-Pint entered the Spire they found themselves in a dimly lit hallway that had collapsed at the other end, with an archway to their left through which they can see nothing but total darkness. while looking around, another person comes racing into the room, and to their surprise, and delight, Ronan has found them and decided to join in on the adventure of whatever this must lead to. The passageway has a light draft of stale, dead air which is permeated by the stench of decay. As the party approached the archway, they noticed a florid script carved into the arch, but they could not read what it said.   Deciding that there must be no other options, the party continued through the archway, finding that as they walked through they were followed by a rush of light from an oil-filled sconce, the single flame bouncing from one sconce to the next, setting each one alight before continuing it’s dance down the hallway. As shadows stretched along the walls, they were able to just make out some shapes on the smooth stone walls, which upon further investigation turned out to be weapons attached very firmly to the smooth stone walls. As they continued down the roughly 250 ft. chamber, they began to notice that their shadows weren’t entirely in sync with the rest of them.

The Shadow Warriors

Quickly, their shadows began to get closer and closer. Not wanting to find out what this means, they began racing down the passage, hoping to get to the large wooden door at the end before their shadows can catch up. Curious, Ronan decides to stop and see if the shadows are actually hostile. Quickly discovering that they are, the party prepares for a fight. Spells at the ready, Ronan casts a spell making light so all the shadows go away (sorry y'all I don't have your character sheets lol). the race to the door and finally make it through, finding a room with a moonlight chandelier and a pool in the center with some very interesting levers.

The Moon Pool

The party investigates the room and finds that the white lever makes the walls spin, or stop, and the black lever makes the floor move up and down. After some fidgeting with a mirror, Cyrus Akahoshi brightens the pool with a moonbeam. While this seemingly has no effect, in reality, it's the secret to aligning the walls with their doors. While playing with the levers, the party discovers that when the black lever is in line with a particular rainbow gem, the gem of the same color along the top of the archway they came through will glow for a short period of time while spinning around. When the white lever is pulled at just the right time, the two gems will glow at the same time and a door is revealed. The party makes note of where each color seems to go [see the below notes] and begins exploring. They decide to first go into the green chamber, where they see the body of a member of The Order of the Ochre Eye. After quickly getting Ronan up to speed on all that Lorita Sancham told them, they enter the room.

The Green Chamber

Upon entering the chamber, the party finds two zombies and immediately decides to kill them. After a valiant fight where Worry Half-Pint brutally attacks and Ronan takes down one of the zombies, Cyrus Akahoshi make a near-fatal blow to the other, but gives the final kill to Ronan . After looting the body of The Order of the Ochre Eye member, they find one longsword and one potion of greater healing.
