Session 03: The Dead Tell No Tales Report

General Summary

During this session, Turk and Mandragora chose their magic item rewards from the previous day, and slept after a night of celebration of their successful mission on the island. In the morning, they roused to a crew-wide muster and checked in with Larry, who gave them some goodies before they went to the deck.

What followed was a tense chase out of the islet cove, the Lion's Rage eventually catching up to the Order caravel after a middling performance by the newish crew. They succeeded eventually, grappling the other ship and everyone leaping on board with the help of grappling hooks, except for Turk, who just jumped the distance.

A bloody battle followed, with Turk and Mandragora defeating two cultists, a Star Scion, and an Order bruiser as the rest of their crew dispatched the remaining Order members. Unfortunately, their friend Ronn fell in the battle.

They searched the ship, with Mandragora finding some powerful weapons, and Turk finding some correspondance and charts in the captain's quarters, as well as some expensive Aleeian wine.

Yugg'l discovered a priest hiding in the cargo hold, and a collaborative interrogation by Siphren, Turk, and Mandragora revealed the Church of the Godking was working with the Order to find and recover ancient Orq'ats'i artifacts in the hopes of finding magical advantages to help in their planned war with Grilkhor Bloodtusk, the Witchking of Mogyra. Reviewing the letter revealed they were specifically looking for a giant ruby said to contain powerful magics.

Slowly making their way back to the Maw, the crew arrived and Alor'isk dispatched Turk and Mandragora to visit Correlai Tasck, the local cartographer, to investigate the maps. She used a sending scroll to consult a colleague of hers, and told the party she would send a messenger when she found anything.
