Session 4 7/27/2019: The Onyx Obelisk-Into the Basement Report

General Summary

you guys got to the bottom of the Onyx Obelisk & found the Obsidian Eye in the maw of a leathery dragon skull. Determined trying to relocate it or hide it elsewhere may draw more attention/trigger something magical as a defense. So ultimately locked the door and left Siskas the Thri-Kreen there as a covert “guard”. Went to Jazeela’s home town/where she has connections to a magic-history college/institute. From there you guys dropped cash getting intel from the church or Mask and other resources that the “Order of the Obsidian Eye” are mostly housed in 3 city’s. One isn’t far off, and there is a warehouse that is used as their meeting place. he closest one of the three cities is Skuld, which is where you guys are gonna head towards to go investigate. The other two cities are Delziner & Assur. One is assumed to be folded in on itself/very uninhabitable area with other warlords and monsters roaming it. And the other hasn’t been in communication in a long while. (50ish Years). In the last session when checking the Obelisk out, Marro had a weird magical trigger. He is wearing a cloak of eyes, and in the top room there is a magical viewing capacity that enhances how far out you can see and stuff. He had a compulsion and saw/felt red beady eyes peering at him from a long distance. When inquiring about it with Jazeela, they confirmed that was the mountains where the City of the Dead rest. And there is a Lich on Covenant Hill that has been rumored to live in the small fishing village for generations. Also, you went through Gheldaneth (where Jazeela is from) & on to Skuld (to find the Order of the Obsidian Eye). But when you guys showed up, you couldn’t get in due to the Kossuth boys having no real Identification and the city having strict city walls and entry requirements. But Royce spoke up and he did have ID due to working for his church of Istishia in a very official capacity as a Religious Liaison hailing from the Dragon Coast. Since two people of his party claimed religious affiliation, they instructed you to seek out the religious ward. This area is known for housing information small relics and representation from allegedly every religion on Faerun. Both Kossuthians & he of Istishia were well met by the representation of their faith & both signed up to give a lecture to the tourists/masses at the city stage just outside the main Inn, the Wine-skin. You also have already booked a few rooms at the Wine-skin for yourselves that night. The Istishia presentation will be done by Royce at Sunset, and Kossuth (Magma/Harool) will present just after. Mayoka has been traveling with Royce, But is interested in going back to her people soon. Since it doesn’t seem this quest will end anytime soon, she may be seeking passage back while you guys head to Skuld in the morrow. Gheldaneth is a port city that housed Mulhorand's Great University and the Wizard College. Jazeela works for the great university. Jarris & Marro got a brief tour and basically filled out an application to access the Wizards college and put your home Wizards university in Cormyr as a reference. They were very tight lipped initially and said once they can verify your credentials they will let you know if you can utilize this college as well. Basically, we’ll file your app, check back in a week. Jazeela did all the research at the Great University & the Wizards college was at Gheldaneth. The home to all the churches was actually Skuld,which you just made your way into. Literally been inside Skuld about an hour. It’s like 4pm. I’ll say Mayoka left to go back to Tara Mura from Gheldaneth instead of going further north with you to Skuld.
