Session 5a: The calm before the storm Report
General Summary
After a shopping/flogging trip, our heroes went on an expedition to deal with the undead problem originating from the north east. They met a Stone Giant on the way, Dorn , and eventually reached the tower by evening. They decided to set up camp before investigating, but ended up attracting striges due to an inconvenient test of a crossbow.
The next Morning, Lucan had the idea of dressing up as a zombie to fool the undead. It worked flawlessly, up until the necromancer that actually pulled the strings noticed him. He offered a deal, destroying his undead for the destruction of the orcs and the name of the wizard that owned the tower. While most of the party were willing to do this, Erland could not let the necromancer live for the defilement he caused. The confrontation ended poorly, and Erland ended up being delivered on the back of a zombie back to the party while being at death's door.
The party then trudged back to Phandalin, fought a bear, and looked at their options.
