After some brief discussion about what to do with the shard, Garth attempts to pick it up, causing a sharp, shooting pain that causes him to drop the stone
Dropping the stone causes a further crack
Abek attempts to use the shard, however instead he falls unconscious, leaving a tether of light between himself and the shard
After examining Abek and finding that he is alive but unresponsive, the Radiants follow him into the shard, with the exception of Sang who stays outside to keep watch on the unconscious bodies
Entering the shard, the Radiants find themselves in a dark space, stone and grass underfoot. Here they encounter what is presumed to be the god child in the shard
The child of the shard does not identify himself, instead telling the Radiants that "They've already won," and refusing to give any other information
After further discussion, a massive ball of flame appears in the dark sky. After disappearing behind the hill, there is a bright flash of light and heat. Cresting the hill shows the Basin in flames
The child points to The Mire that is sweeping across the basin, consuming the flames and light. He says that the Mire has already won, and that he may as well hasten the process so that he can get it over with, attacking the Radiants with misdirecting teleportation and bolts of dark energy
After teleporting Thog and Garth off the cliff behind him, the child accidentally teleports himself a long distance away, possibly injuring himself in the process
Abek is nowhere to be seen, however Havard finds tracks of him arriving at this location
Garth and Thog hit the ground painfully and wake up to find themselves outside of the shard again. They re-enter to continue the search
Toland attempts to trace the child's teleport, determining that he has traveled a distance to the west
