Something's Strange in Freeport Conclusion Report

General Summary

Continued from Something's Strange in Freeport Part 2 Report. While trying to find more information, the party decided to head back to Drac's End, and there they found a crowd outside the tavern. only moments before another animal attack happened but this was during the day. The party was shocked to find the victim was Carlotta, Aurette's roommate. They noticed a cloaked figure watching them, and as soon as they looked in it's direction it stated to run off. They also found a trail that they could follow to lead them to the animal that attacked Carlotta. They split the party and half went after the figure and the other half after the animal.   After a chase through the streets of the city, Trevayn and Carados manages to catch the figure to see that it was Aurette herself. She told them she would explain back at the Gypsy's tent. Meanwhile the rest of the party hunted down the animal to find a wounded wolf. They managed to catch it and it turned on them and they had to kill it, and were surprised to find that after it died it left the body of a man. One of the students of the Feral Blades. They decided to head back and find the other and met them at the Papuza's tent.   There Aurette explained that the Feral Blades are a group of werewolves. Madame Papu says all the Von Fortunes are and Yohan was is turning young noble into Werewolves. Conner is caught up with them, and they is a ceremony tonight at the full moon for him to get his first kill. Once that is done he will be changed forever. There is a cure that Papu has prepared but it carries great risk, and it has to be administered before Connor takes a life. She also explained normal silve will not harm a von Fotrune Werewolf. Only Weapons made from silver with a sentimental value. Thus the reason the items were stolen from the Vera home. Carlotta's father was going to make weapons from them.   The party went to the smithy to have the weapons made and prepared to interrupt the ceremony. Papu warned them of another threat, whoever summoned the rats. That was not the work of a werewolf, and she though that Yohan Von Forten might be working with a darkling. A corrupted Romani. The players took the weapons' and headed to the place where the ceremony was going to take place. They got there just as the feral blades did. Yohan made a speech about his kind being hunted and that it was time for them to become the hunters. They brought a captive from freeport for Connor to have, but the players attacked before they could go further. They managed to stop Connor, who turned on the blades when he realized what they wanted him to do. They defeated all the blades but Yohan got away.
  They brought Connor back to Madam Papu and she administered the cure, but Conner did not survive. They delivered Aurette to her family, finishing that task and clearing their debt with the HBA. They still had a loose end though. They learned from Connor that Yohan had a small training facility in a cave not far from Freeport. They traveled there to put an end to him.   They found the place guarded by the darling and several creatures, including a raven swarm that blinded many in the party and a giant bear. They managed to defeat them, and though they didn't have enough healing to heap Carados' blindness they went after Yohan anywhere. They found him in the cave and after a fierce fight they managed to slay him.   Knowing Freeport was safe from his threat they could finally leave and look for the first of the great Dragon Rings.     Before they managed to leave the city, there was one more bit of bad luck waiting for them. A Vemoraxx ship had docked not far from the The Mistral. As the players tried to sneak back to their ship, they found a Vemoraxx inquisitor taking prisoners to his ship. A strange figure attacked the inquisitor and the party rushed to her aid. They managed to free the prisoners and chase the Vemoraxx back on to their ship, and escaped with the figure who turned out to be an eastern warrior. A bodyguard who was looking for her ward who was captured by the Vemoraxx. They took her with them, though Dylan decided to stay in freeport and help clear the way for them. The party and their new companion Li Xiayan 李霞艳 boarder the mistral and they sailed for Haram Bay

Rewards Granted

The party earned the gratitute of the HBA and received a reward from the Master Vera.
