Commissioning of the Century
General Summary
Breachill has long been reknowned for the Burgher's Commission, a monthly ceremony that offers commisions to first-time adventurer parties. This month would draw our adventurers to the base of the Five Kings Mountains to test their mettle. Phok, Telemnar, Kereg, and Segomo Arrived in Breachill separately the morning prior to this month's commission. Kereg and Segomo traveled to Breachill from Kintargo along the Conerica River They both meandered to the Wizard’s Grace where they met with the barkeep. Kereg practices some street medicine to scrounge up some coin while Segomo tried to bounce at the Grace. His performance evoked pity from the proprietor. Telemnar Ucalo crossed over the Five Kings Mountaind from Druma. He went to Reliant Book Company to ply his Scribing abilities for money there. Voz Lirayne cooly declined and sent him away. Telemnar sensed a magical energy crackling within Voz when he saw her. Tel also found the wizard's grace where he spent the night. Phok Ingul came to Breachill from the Chitterwood he comed Breachill's southside for some professional companionship. He found it at Cayden’s Keg. Above town in the foothills of the five king's mountains a broken citadel glows with a signal fire; in thier evening of carousing the party would learn of Citadel Altaerein former headquarters of the Order of the Nail. and that the fire their wasd recently lit but the town was waiting for the Burgher's Commission to send a scout party. All four would run into each other at the Wizard's Grace the next morning. Trinil recommended that if they band together they would be more likely to receive a commission at the meeting. At noon the meeting began. Would-be heroes and petitioners pressed into Town Hall to hear the prospective missions of the month. Council president Greta Gardania announced there would be only one commission this month and it would be presented by Warbal Bumblebrasher. When the Goblin emissary took the podium a fire exploded on the Eastern wing of the council hall. With the explosion of fire, most of the room's inhabitants ran for the door. even burly barbarian types broke and ran for the door. two firey humanoid forms emerged from the blaze. one blasted a cone of fire at the council's podium; Greta was caught in the blast she rolled to the side of the podium and lay there in a heap. Phok and Segomo attacked the figures; when Phok's whip struck the humanoid forms their shimmering disguise evaporated away revealing two Fire Mephits that would be struck down by Segomo's sword. Kereg rushed over to Greta and gave her an Elixir of Life. Tel told the fire to be still in Ignan; this stalled the spread of the fire long enough for the remaing inhabitants to escape the burning building. The crowd outside pointed out that Calmont came running out of the building before anyone escaped and that he took off towards Hellknight Hill. Warbal begged that the council send a party there to check on the Bumblebrashers there as part of the Burgher's commision. Beside the cinders of Breachill Town Hall The council payed the Century Club five Gold pieces each for thier role in the rescue and offered them a commission to investigate the lighting of the signal fire at the Citadel.
