Session 1: The House of Whispering Grass Report

General Summary

The party is attacked by gnolls while taking tea at the House of Whispering Grass. Inside, the damage is substantial as the beasts tear through the paper windows. The party's favorite Tea Master is killed in the attack. The mysterious old man disappears in a whirl of smoke, along with his copy of The Book of 10,000 Paths, after his arm is bitten by a skeletal gnoll warrior.   When they go pursue some gnolls outside the building, they find two Honor Guards belonging to the local Warlord, Shinju Harata. One of them is dead, but when the remaining gnolls fall, implores the party to protect the rest of the village while he stays at his post.   Down the street, the party finds brush and buildings burning. Arrow-filled bodies are strewn about the street, hapless villagers cut down while escaping the gnolls. Before they can hunt down the savage attackers, some peer around buildings and fire arrows while they are rushed by the blood-thirsty warmongers.   N8 falls several times, a virtual human pin cushion, but eventually the party is victorious, clearing the blood-soaked streets of Sekae.
