5/8- Weekend at Lord Holcomb's Report

General Summary

The gang decided to start the game by splitting the party!    Bryseis, Hands, and Bird accompanied Clicks, the kenku, into the sewers where they came into a brief encounter with a gelatinous cube and some grey ooze. There were also lots of snakes.    After braving the sewers and a close call with Clicks, the gang scaled the cliff face and approached Lord Holcomb's estate.    Meanwhile, Dia with Tenebris posing as her servant, used their invitation to access the party as guests. They overheard some rumors about the other fire genasi at court and got to meet some of the other high ranking officials, including Heska Newamble, an ambassador for the Empire of New Oster. The couple also remarked an odd couple dressed in red heading towards the estate crypts.    While Dia and Tenebris were rubbing elbows with the nobility and gathering information, the rest of the party silently infiltrated Lord Holcomb's estate. Bryseis and Clicks were post outside to keep an eye out for any threats that might arrive, while Bird and Hands broke into the estate and began looking for the map.    While they did not find the map, the did find a labortory and study where it looked like some sort of transformation experiment attempting to turn animals into snakes was discovered. They were soon reunited with Tenebris who was doing some exploring of his own, and the group together discovered  a secret passage into the drainage tunnels below the house. Here they found debris from other experiments and they were attacked by a reptilian creature with random human features.    Not long after entering the tunnels, the guest of honor arrived- Hourig- Dia's brother. He was excited to reunite with another member of his family and he and Dia took some time to catch up. He informed her that their father, Diablo, had also been receiving visions about the stones from The Architect- the creator of the fire genasi and the fire realm. Hourig told Dia that they were instructed by these visions to ally themselves with King Crod who also worshiped The Architect, but in Tuath he was known as Ozzu.    Just before they could continue their conversation however, many of the party guests began producing weaponry and attacking the party guests. IT was also at this time that the crypt on the North West corner of the estate erupted into flames that began to spread across the estate grounds.    Bryseis was quick to abandon her post and join the others inside the estate, and it wasn't long before she found Dia. Together the two of them went looking for the rest of their party.    After an intense battle with the mysterious reptilian creature, Tenebris, Bird, and Hands soon began to smell smoke and it wasn't long before they found a secret door leading in the direction of the tombs. The secret passage was not empty, however, as the group soon made out a couple dressed in red heading there way with a large piece of parchment rolled under one of their arms.
