Session 17 Report
General Summary
After trussing up Hammerstone, the group inspects the throne room where the woman was but don't find any sign of her, just a rat scurrying into a tunnel. They decide to head back to Stokely and interrogate him there. Hengar throws Hammerstone over his shoulder and they march across the valley to Battlehammer Hold. Once inside the throne room, Stokely expresses surprise at their choice to bring Hammerstone back. Barnabas explains the situation that led to their fight, allaying his fears by confirming only one fatality, and mentions the presence of the woman and how he seemed to hang on her every word and suggestion. Saiph mentions the accent of the lady was similar to the guy in Bryn Shander whose footprints turned into ratprints. Stokely asks if werebeasts are normal among humans. He then suggests that the group head back to Ten-Towns to follow up on the lead, and recommends separating Hammerstone from his black ice armor, though it's not a simple process to separate them from its influence. After Barnabas questions the origin of the black ice, Stokely motions to the unconscious Hammerstone and claims he's the one who knows the origins best, as he was the first. As we rest and recover from the fight, some of Stokely's men bring in some chests, one with 350 gold for clearing up the Halls of Ice, and the other has some magic items in it. Saiph asks what these items are, and the response is that they are gifts for minimizing the deaths of dwarves: Amulet of Health Bag of Holding Belt of Dwarven King Boots of Winterlands Cloak of Protection Gauntlets of Ogrepower The group spends 1.5 real life hours discussing the dissemination of the items before coming to a tentative agreement.
