Session 16 Report

General Summary

4 Marpenoth 1485   After confirming that Barnabas is dead-set on getting his axe back, Robin fires an arrow at the one holding Barnabas' axe but it goes wide. The other two dwarves in the party also lay into the surrounding Hammerstone dwarves. The rest of the Hammerstone dwarves close in and trap the party in the antechamber. One of them knocks Saiph unconscious and Hammerstone, upon seeing his 'friend' go down, attempts to revive her unsuccessfully. Hengar shoves his Goodberry into Saiph's mouth and brings her back to consciousness. Barnabas casts Thunderwave and pushes one of the dwarves away from the party, but the rest are still boxing the party in.   Saiph scoots past Baerick to escape the crowd of death and heals herself. Robin misses with a second shot, much to eir chagrin. The dwarves fill the holes left by Saiph and surround Hengar. He catches a thrown hammer in his antlers, and flings it back toward the one who threw it, goring the dwarf next to him, though the hammer misses. Barnabas closes in on the one with his axe, as Saiph swings her Shillelagh'd quarterstaff at the dwarf, just missing him. Robin finally manages to connect with eir arrow, instantly killing that dwarf.   The group slowly whittles down the enemy horde, but Baerick manages to break the charm from Saiph, and later knocks her unconscious with his axe. Robin, worried about Saiph being trapped in a corner, fires an arrow at Baerick as Hengar taunts the group of dwarves to draw their attention.
