Part 12: The Sun Touched Tree Report
General Summary
From the treetops of Komodi , our heros faced off against Boxun Solarstride. Even with the power of the burning sycthe, the The Masks of the Gods were able to put an end to his efforts. Unable to save the sacred temple, Omis led the party out before the flames could engoulph them. At the base of the burning treant, Marzen reached out to the scythe with the power of Kruphix. As the item shifted back through time, she saw a vision of Komodi fighting against an Archon with burning wings. The tree sacrificed itself at an Ancient Grove deep in Oreskos. As a former Leonin leader, Aletha mentioned that the grove has been sealed for generations. Only a cohort of matriarchs are allowed to enter. They will need to gather three charged totems to do so. In an attempt to discover the fate of her people (and perhaps gain a totem), Aletha led the party to the last known campsite of the Thundercaller. As the party traveled, they heard a cry for help. Deep within a cavern, Teon Primeweaver desperately called for a hero. As they pulled him out, he spoke about the poor fate of his Sun Guide Oren Embertooth. Apparently, he began to shift in and out of time and complained of hearing a voice. Upon reaching Raven's Roost, the party found the Thundercaller all in a comatose state. While looking for clues, they were greeted by Keme Thundercaller who told them of their people's fate. Despite her pleas for help and offering of shelter, Aletha elected to take the totem of her pride and the party returned to Tethmos. Before resting at the inn, Marzena asked Omis to place a note in the bag of a Satyr named Mobea -but little was discussed past this point. At dawn, the party gathered Teon Primeweaver to search for a rare flower. From which, Teon has promised to craft some fire resistance potions. Though, it seems like the others have not traveled to this cliff for a reason. Upon reaching the top a Harpy eating fiend awaited them. Now furious about the fate of his dinner, our heroes find themselves on the edge of a cliff - trying not to look down.
