In a sudden twist of events, police were called to deal with a set of bound criminals next to the Bow Bridge in Central Park.
The collection was an odd mix of members of the local gang, the Disco Boys, and the rumored organized crime syndicate, the Golden Lotus.
The group claimed to have run into the Knights Vigilant in the park, claiming that the local vigilante team ambushed them for no reason. However, Dr. Pamela Isley provided further details on the matter.
In a rare interview, the crusading environmentalist and occasional eco-terrorist disclosed that the Golden Lotus was allegedly smuggling a rare plant and the Knights Vigilant were key to stopping the smuggling effort.
Known as the 'Crystal Jade Vine', or a 'metamorphis strongylodon macrobotrys', this species of vine is both protected in some regions of the world and also on the endangered species list. According to sources, this plant may be one of the world's oldest organisms, having first developed in the Jurassic period in history. During the age of the dinosaurs!
With the subjects in custody, local authorities have contacted both State and Federal officials to determine the severity of the crimes described. At the time of this article, Dr. Isley asked that the plants be remanded into her care, as she is one of the few botanists who have studied the extremely rare plant.
Meanwhile, city officials are at a loss to explain the presence of the unusual two room chamber that lies below the Bow Bridge in Central Park. Currently, access to the bridge has been limited as the city is investigating. Currently, the city's only record isn't of the structure but a decades old document that deeds that exact plot of land, called the Garden of the Heavens, to one George Clarendon of Chicago.
However, the renowned criminologist of the 1930s passed away some number of years ago. A will is currently being examined for an heir or if the plot of land now belongs to the City Of New York.

OOZE EXPOSE: ORIGIN OF THE OOZE, PT 3
by Meil MingContinuing the expose into the mysterious "Orange Ooze" that has been a recurring threat in the Central Park area, the Dawn Sun Register has uncovered more concerning this mysterious substance.
The research at Phoenix Industries into the ooze sample is still pending. However, information has surfaced about the "holographic invisibility" technology thanks to the Applied Science Division of Brice Corp.
According to Brice Corp, the technology parallels a type of "Predator cloak" prototype device that surfaced out of recovered Advanced Idea Mechanics technology during a failed attempt at industrial espionage against WayneTech two months ago.
Based off the designs, this is a device intended to be worn as a belt. The "hologram" can bend visual light, making the wearer invisible. However, Brice Corp suggests that a full body hologram isn't out of the question. A sort of "disguise belt" or "holo-belt".
Details of a robot emerging from the sewers has yet to be proven.
Information has been uncovered that the Ivory Talons criminal group have been a periodic issue in the Vibora Bay region. This group has made frequent use of the mysterious chemical. However, the source may be from a location in the swampland outside of Vibora Bay.
The Ivory Talons have been known to clash with authorities and the local collection of Vibora Bay vigilantes on a regular basis.

Code Blue descended on 5th Avenue in the Central Park area today in response to the grid-wide blackout. They were unable to arrest a mysterious figure in black armor that was reported to be aggravating the situation.
Security guards from the Museum of New York City were taken in for treatment and questioning. At this time, Ironclad Securities has recalled its employees for testing by Cygnus Medical Center.
In a related incident, two people were arrested in conjunction with the near accidents and blackouts. Both of these individuals were remanded into treatment for long term mind control effects. However, one with an Egyptian Mythological Cat motif, has been placed under arrest as well.

The 'Licensed Hero' bill moves forward through the city legislature today with the tentative provision of 'consulting hero' where a licensed hero would be considered a 'consulting expert' law enforcement could tap into as a resource when needed.
Debates have begun in earnest over the legality of 'hero alliances' as it pertains to a court of law.

STAR LABS / WAYNETECH PROTOTYPE TEST CONTNUES
Mid-day the new STAR Labs / WayneTech "Avatar" prototype took its first steps today outside the lab.
Fledgling research into the world of human to machine communication took a bold new step today with the joint progress reporting success as a 'drone pilot' was able to successfully manipulate a holographic drone under controlled conditions.
This hologram was, with limited success, able to allow the pilot to access and enter a hazardous area though a new neural interlink technology.
