Session 9: Report
General Summary
The party made their way into the edge of the ruins and agreed to send Shiro ahead, invisible, to see if he could find the entrance into the lower levels of the ruins where Grygor was kept. After searching for 15 or so minutes, Shiro found a dilapidated structure that appeared to have an entrance that led underground and assumed this was what they were looking for and used the Stone to report back to the rest of the party. They all gathered near this structure and Adara remembered from her studies that they were standing in the ruins of the Barze Kingdom. The "structure" they were standing in front of might be the very top of a 500+ foot tall tower that seems to now be buried under thousands of years of soil. Entering through the gap in the structure. The open entrance seemed to go underground and not necessarily into the tower but they went on in. Through a small series of winding, dug-out caves, and leaving scouts and soldiers at crossroads to communicate back with, the party eventually reached a corridor where the earthy caverns stopped and the wall turned into smooth stone. Ahead was a small opening in the wall that appeared to be a landing of some kind. Passing through the archway, the group following a set of winding stairs that led down into the earth. After spending a good 10 minutes slowly making their way down, they eventually reached another landing that spilled into a wide corridor with a set of large double doors at the end of the corridor. Finding doors to the left and the right, the party split up and decided to look around. Lazer, going through the front double doors, walked into a large open room with various large shelves along the edges of the walls and found a hooded figure hovering over a stone structure in the center of the room that seemed to be giving off a soft purple-ish haze. Lazer hollered at the individual to ask who they were but received no response so he fired. The figure spoke out, "Men!" and they began to hear the clattering of metal coming from behind them.
