Group C Intro Session 1 Report
General Summary
Both Melech Lavant and Alvyn Nackle woke up in caverns. Nim quickly discovered an open, empty surface with a dimly lit grey sky. Melech was approached by K'van while Nim was approached by Sia, both creatures resembling an odd mix of fey and demon. The group met up after Sia demonstrated her ability to know her brother's location only to be almost immediately chased by a large creature of some sort. They all managed to escape thanks to some quick thinking, scaring it off and hearing the sound of something bigger tearing it apart from somewhere further away. The group navigated to the surface again, making their way to the river Sia and K'van knew of. They followed it to a small stone building with a flat roof which had barely visible spiderweb patterns on its door. The lighting of Melech's lantern revealed patterns of shadow across the entire structure matching that spiderweb design with little bits of movement here and there. The group investigated the door, discovering that the doorframe and the space within was enchanted with abjuration magic. After copious experimentation, Melech entered without any consequences and discovered what appeared to be a chamber used for ritual magic of some sort. Study of the books and scattered papers inside revealed that the building was used to return from having explored the planes in a dream-state as well as instructions for how to return and how to journey there again in the same manner. The group discovered that they'd need to spend time gathering components for the ritual in order to cast it and return as well as that it'd have to be done at that place. They also found a way to bind yourself to a creature from this place, the Demonweb, and bring them into the material plane, deciding to use it on K'van and Sia to take the two with them. With that, the group headed to bed, starting what would be nearly a year (estimated) of working to complete the process in order to return to their original plane of existence.
