Kalarol Troubles in the Valley of the Kobold King

The Andran Empire depends of Kalarol, the magical fuel sold by the Haversworth Trading Company to power the magical conveniences and technology of the age of the Gilded Dragoness. Since its inception 40 years ago, the fuel has flowed steadily from the City of Haversworth at the edge of the Valley of the Kobold King, the one port of the Three Clans' territory that permits foreign trade and commerce. Despite consistently increasing demand in the Andran Empire and elsewhere, and attempts to reverse engineer the fuel, it remains as esoteric as the first day the Haversworth Trading Company introduced it.   Yet not all has been well. Haversworth stirs with rumors of fiend sighting through the valley's kingdom, and recent shipments of Kalarol have proven more sparse than expected, causing increases in prices and rationing. Hoping to solve the problems and earn some coin, adventurers have stormed Haversworth (much to the dismay of the Three Clans, who have tightened security at Haversworth and their other borders). The Andran Empire has also sent agents to the area in the hopes of unravelling the problems of their most important fuel source.
