Session 46 - Trust & Loyalty Report

General Summary

Evening 16th Sungleam   The group has dinner with Iaidar in his residence and finish telling him the story of what happened on their journey, though they leave out the parts about the Chronoract and the Avatars. XIV and Akio inquire about Kaldar-era shrines and documents to study in the nearby area, given Iaidar's residence is built in the ruins of a Kaldar port.   After some discussion, Iaidar tells the group to rest up and heads off to attend to business.   17th Sungleam   The group wake up and eat breakfast in the hall.   They all leave Iaidar's place to wander the nearby ruins, and after about an hour, they stumble across a hill with a circular stone base and the remains of pillars. As they searched, XIV was holding the shard of rock from the shrine in Bronzeshore. XIV, upon stumbling into this ruin, feels a sense of familiarity. He sits to meditate.   As he meditates, he feels the presence of the old city around him, as it was long before it was a ruin. He feels a figure walk up next to him and lay a hand on his shoulder. XIV asks it, "What do you want me to do?" but no response comes - XIV gets a sense he is looking for answers in the wrong place. As XIV meditates, Panser again sees his sigil glowing.   After this, the group discuss what to do with Iaidar. Panser also talks about how he thinks it could go horribly wrong. They end up deciding to keep going along with Iaidar's plan but to develop a contingency in case Iaidar goes against his word and seizes power. They discuss the possibility of acting as a counsel after the uprising to ensure that democracy is practiced.   They walk back to the house. Panser discusses Elxis' change with her, after the avatars death. Elxis feels overwhelmed and disquieted by Cel's death and this huge change.   They go to the library, specifically to the section with the oldest documents. Hoshina Hijouki is there, he helps them search the records. The day is mostly spent in research.  Akio and Panser look for maps of Kaldar cities in the library. They find a map of an old city called Valiance, a ruined Kaldar city in an unknown place with a temple on a hill. Elxis finds a single scroll on moving Goblin constructs, and the library automaton finds a book on master artificers throughout history.   Iaidar comes to the library, having been looking for them. They go to his room and agree that they will cast Zone of Truth and question him to ensure they can trust him. They discuss what he wants from the uprising, discuss the opening of Demak Greenfjord's theatre as an opportunity, and the group briefly mentions the Chronoract. After they have done questioning him, he asks them about the Chronoract. They tell him of the dying gods, of the Goblin trickster god Kuhi and Khator's false tomb, and Ila's message about the Chronoract. He is very skeptical that any of it equates to anything more than fables and legends.   Panser casts sending to Ila to verify about the Chronoract. Ila says she got away from the Whitegrove and the "whole Chronoract business", went to a city called Damnos and got imprisoned there. She says she plans to escape and return to Kotoxi Mari. After a second casting, Ila reveals that she was at a funeral for a Realmshield general in Damnos. She heard a rumor from a man in a back alley that this general was abusive, so Ila decided to "use some magic on the funeral". This explains her imprisonment.   Panser tells the group all of this. Iaidar is amused.   The conversation shifts to plans - Iaidar tells them that they must gain the favour of the Free Merchants, and to do so, they must travel to the dangerous city of Bokhor.
