Session 36: Abraham Harker Report
General Summary
14th of Cupid the members Shining Eclipse woke well rested after spending two nights at the hacienda of baroness Clodia Alethia. A breakfast was prepared for the companions as well as the workers of Clodia orchard. Every worker were happy and joyous as they ate the well prepared breakfast. The whole plaza was filled with joy as they ate and prepared for their days work. About an hour into breakfast a mule walks in with a man in his early 40's staked to a broken cross with nails in his hand. The cross has been broken and carefully tied to the donkey to hold up the man so that he don't fall of the donkey. The donkey is covered in blood from the man that is sitting on him. The man himself has been beaten to a pulp and whipped with a cat of nine tails. His legs have been broken as well. Alethia and Annia had looks of shock and horror as the recognize the man as husband and father. As the companions approach the donkey A scroll has been attached to the head of the victim by a large spike that was driven into the man head in between his eyes. Tied around his neck is a coin pouch with 30 pieces of silver. The scroll was lined with a thin poison and had to be carefully removed. The companions new Party member Zaydri Kan was able to calm the donkey and use speak with animals to gather intel on what happened to Lar Lartius Althia. They learned that he was captured at the Arch a memorial to the battle known as the Siege of Nightmares where over 175 combined dragon riders lost their lives in this horrific battle. The memorial listed the 75 dragon riders of the Order of the Phoenix. No names of the fallen Black Legion or Black moon were on the memorial. The donkey told the half-orc that skeletal creatures were responsible for the crucifixion of the baroness husband. The note in the scroll was supposedly from the former governor of Ephesus Abrahm Harker who demanded the surrender of the 12 families who had betrayed the governor 503 years ago. That if they surrendered that it would be a quick death. If they did not surrender then every family member would be killed or sold in to slavery. The baroness who has handled the death of her husband very well up to this point hire the companions of Franchise K to go meet at the arch to respond to the note with a flat no that as their forefathers did they swore their allegiance to the Pendragon line of Kings. The companions of Shining eclipse departed around the 10th hour of the day to travel 6 leagues to the south to the memorial known as the arch. Half way there the companions once again encountered two Skeletal knights defeating them but not without damage as Karrin was taken out rather quickly with in the minutes of the conflict as well as Dagwyn. During the battle a healing potion was used to bring the paladin back to life but to no avail. After the battle Jasmal was able to heal and bring the paladin back from the clutches of death. The party proceeded to the arch where they once again saw five skeletal knights mounted on war horses surrounding the memorial a sixth horse with a guide-on with a white flag on it. A 6'6" skeleton stands a the memorial reading the names. Jasmal and Dagon immediately recognize that the figure is a death knight. The armored figures has the black rose sigil on their shields and armor. The death knight turns to the party and begins to talk to his daughter (Step) Dagwyn. He asked where the traitors were and called them cowards as well. As the conversation went on along with insults slung by Dagwyn at knight. The Death Knight told the companion that he was coming back to claim what was his. The queens land is to be taken back and that the Pendragons would also fall giving him the right land that was to be his families land and Kingdom. He did notice the three legendary weapons which seemed stun him a little but he carried on. He came out and said that he had the advantage and that there was no way they could win this coming war. The People of Avalon would suffer at the hands of the Black Legion and Black Moon empires. This time I come in peace the next time he will come in full out war. You have been given notice. Then the sound of wind could be heard as a black dragon appeared out of the Orchard landing near the memorial where the Abraham Harker mounted the and rode of to the east. The skeletal nights also took off to the east riding at a fast pace.
