Session 40: Bargewright Respite
General Summary
- The party follows Psilos to the Bargewright Inn and, after assurances that the place is actually quite safe (but they shouldn't look anyone in the eye and keep their mouths shut), they are lead inside to meet with Gurgleglark a nefarious local gangleader and the current proprieter of the Bargewright.
- Gurgleglark welcomes them in graciously, and after Psilos fills him in on the party's capabilities, he invites them to settle in and join him for the evening where they chat casually until they get to business. Gurgleglark and Psilos offer to show them how to reach the Dragonsteel Mines, but it will take a bit of time and naturally Gurgleglark expects something in return. They arrange a meeting in the morning to settle the situation, and the Myconid gangleader welcomes them to the Bargewright's amenities, including the bar, casino, and brothel.
- Soma-Rai , Bengt Sunwalker and Odila Vallos take to the casino to play some games and find varying levels of success. Bengt tries the slots until he decides to give up and drink his losses away at the bar. To which he discovers some [Orcish White Vodka] that knocks him on his ass.
- Kayl gets a bit tipsy and unloads on the bartender, lamenting about his difficulties walking the righteous path of Eldath and struggling with the discoveries he's making about his blood heritage. Eventually, after Frederick inquires about the Silver College from Psilos and gets some of the answers he's looking for, he escorts the drunk Kayl upstairs to his room and does his best to answer the distraught Kayl's questions about what sorcerous blood power lay within his veins.
That night, Captain Frederick has nightmares again about the fel ritual he witnessed while closing the Portal to the Shadowfell a few days before when dealing with the
Lost Adventurers. He again hears a calming voice, offering to rid him of the pesky nightmares and the profane spell causing them, but Frederick refuses and awakens exhausted.
