Session XX: The Inkbender's Trials Report

General Summary

The party found themselves in the plane of Ku'ladur's sanctuary, inside the magical ink map. Before them laid a sturdy castle embedded in the slope of a big mountain. While they were resting and deciding what to do once inside the building, a tiny little creature appeared before them. The creature introduced itself as Mancha, an ink imp. The creature explained that he was to be their guide if they were to venture in its master's house.

The party entered the building were they were met with a cornucopia of traps that they managed to beat, not without some slight inconviniences. After sorting these traps, they ended in a cozy studio they didn't trust wasn't trapped. Having explored the studio thoroughly for traps, they found nothing and tried the door to the next room. When they opened the door a flood of water came from it. It quickly filled the room and the party pushed onward holding their breath. In the next room, they found a series of statues with buttons that after they pushed drained the room.

In this new room, they found a door inscribed with the following phrase "For the door to open, a hidden truth you must speak. But be wary of your mouths, for lies havoc can wreak.". The party proceeded to tell their truths to the door, which opened showing a new vast room with a big well filled with ink in the middle of it. Genzaburo inspected the well and saw a glimpse of light looking at him at the bottom. He took a step back and from the well appeared a mechanical abomination that tried to put an end to the group.

After an arduous battle, the party defeated the crowned core, clearing the last trial set by Ku'Ladur. From it, they extracted a sword with magical characteristics, that seemed to be one of the artifacts of the gods, Silhouette Slaughter. Mancha announced to the party that they were now the owners of the temple as well as its masters. The creature led them through the well of ink to a luxurious study where the maps of the scribe laid. They discussed over who claimed ownership over Mancha and Malaveth won, ordering it to obey Atarah the next time it sees her and to send them back home.
