Session IX: Shadow Touched Report

General Summary

The party hears a husky female voice that tells them not to despair and to come look for her, through the portal of the sea. Kiber recognizes this voice to be Titania, The Faerie Queen.

They awaken in the ruins once again, beaten and bested by their foe. They find the door to the inner chamber of the ruins open. Investigating the area, they find out that the artifact is missing. Listening to Aurora, they know now that there are five artifacts needed for whatever the purpose of their enemies is. With no further objective left in the ruins, They make their way to Port Albens following the map markings Jibril signaled.

On their first day of journey, they reach a lake in which they find a naiad named Aqua. The lake in which she resides is corrupted by the presence of a cursed item in it's depths. Kiber dives into the lake and takes this amulet out of the lake. Kiber then talks to the thankful naiad and reminisce with her about their home plane, the Feywild. Malaveth catches wind of this conversation and overhears about her being in the royal guard of the Feywild too. He confronts Kiber about this and have a heated argument about it.

After discussing this, the naiad examines their magic items as thanks, all except for the cursed amulet. Malaveth decides to attune to the amulet. The curse takes ahold of him and he starts feeling tremendously sleepy. Aqua points them in the direction of a local healer and points out to them that their route is an old one and a lengthy one. They go on their way carrying the sleeping Malaveth in an improvised cot.

Midway through their journey, they find a bridged plagued with goblins and hobgoblins and negotiate their way through it. After that, they reach Bloomsdale, where the healer's house is located. They knock on a weird house's door and are greeted by Kaltain, a lanky man who seems to be the warlock the naiad talked about. Before they can ask him for anything, he begins to examine Medan from head to toe and asks if he is the reason why they came. After they explain the actual reason for their visit, Kaltain seems to be dumbfounded. He says that he can cure Malaveth's ailment with ease, however they should be more concerned about Medan.

Distressed by the warlock's wisdom, Medan a duscussion breaks. Medan leaves the house and the warlock offers them a way to help Medan. He tasks the party with taking out a hag that lives in the depths of the Onirian woods. They accept the quest and use some of the services Kaltain provides to contact the Empire and update them on the situation and embark again on their quest to hunt the hag.
