Session 9: Only job available Report
General Summary
After their last adventure, Alter and Eli realised, they weren’t doing too well. As such they started looking around for doctors. Upon hearing though that the guild’s doctor was ever so slightly eccentric, Alter suggested to see a doctor she knew. This doctor lived a few hours away from Silverlake, leading to Alter asking Gnimble and Tranquil to come along with them. And as such the group headed off to a small village, a little away from Silverlake, only to be met with, from their interaction, seemed to be Alter’s husband. He treated the two, while Tranquil inspected the church, and Gnimble ... Gnimble was being Gnimble. He investigated the surrounding area, starting with the field behind the church, in which he found a young box, trying to hide. Being the kind guy he is, Gnimble agreed to help him, while the rest of the group stood in front of the field, trying to see him. Eli sent Fluff off to find Gnimble, the bunny disappearing into the field, only to return a few moments later, carrying a young girl. A young girl that turned out to be Alter’s daughter. As the game of hide and seek was over, the girl’s brother, the boy Gnimble had helped, returned from the field as well, both of the children welcoming their mother happily. Even Gnimble eventually returned, following his own tracks back. For Alter’s sake, the group decided to stay the rest of the day, helping out around the village, giving Alter a chance to spend time with her children. Eventually the group headed back towards Silverlake, Alter leaving her family behind again, to return to what they were doing before. As they returned to the guild, hoping to find another job note posted on the board ... the group found only mundane quests, no one would show any interest in on the board. Noticing they were looking for a job, Rail made his way over to them, telling them that an old friend of his was looking to hire the guild for a job. He brought them to this man, who introduced himself as Cieric. The job he had for them was simple. Collect a dagger from a city a few days’ travel away, and return it back to him. He told them he won the dagger in an auction and that it was a valuable piece of history. Hearing though that the reward upon success was a notable sum of silver, as well as Cieric paying their guild fees for them upon fast completion, the group didn’t hesitate much to agree to this. They were sent to see Ward Pentagam, who had sold the dagger. The journey to the city where the dagger was at it currently, was uneventful and the group was faced with one of the most beautiful cities they had ever seen. The houses and front gardens all beautifully decorated, all houses looking from the outside as if nobility lived in them, and eventually the beautiful mansion of Ward Pentagam. Inside they were awaited by the Buttler of the house who brought them to a small waiting area filled with books. The group didn’t hesitate much and started to study these books. Skimming through some of them, dubiously looking at others. Eventually Ward Pentagam showed up, let them inspect the dagger before handing it over after they signed a note that confirmed that they received the letter in prime condition. The journey back was, equally uneventful as the journey to. Halfway back, the group set up their camp a little off the path, settling down for the night. After a night of yet more uneventfulness, the group continued and entered a small village, that they weren’t a hundred percent certain was there on their way to pick up the dagger. Something about this village ... made them want to stay. Just for a little while ... though non of them knew what that would mean yet.
