Session 8: Stirring Winds Report

General Summary

The session started off in the night with Dreadcrusher speaking to Chancer Fate about retrieving disinfectants. He also spoke with Heinrich Von Kleist about retrieving other medical supplies. Heinrich Von Kleist would be able to retrieve only a plague doctor's uniform.

While these conversations were occuring, Loric and Yrya Sorada were out for a walk on the town, where she truly saw the affected people for the first time. Afterward, they went out to the temporary encampment. As they went out, they found the scene of a murder in an alleyway. As they investigated, a man came up behind them and took Yrya Sorada hostage. When Loric went to save her, he had passed out from exhaustion. In his dream, he had a lengthy conversation with a man on a beach, who he later discovered to be Memnos, and was given important information, despite the fact that he was breaking unknown rules.

The death of Travail has left an empty throne, ripe for a new owner.

After awakening from the dream, he found Asoka Yari standing there with the assailant dead at her feet. After a brief conversation, she would take the corpse while Loric took Yrya Sorada back to the castle. Later in the following day, Loric would ask Asoka Yari on a date if she had free time with some wine as a way to thank her for help. Later on, he would speak with the Empress about supplies, someone to teach him about herbalism, and access to the wine cellar.

During the same day, Chancer Fate and Dewglow would head out to see Dr. Deimos, who then gave them information regarding a flower with mystical properties. The two would then travel out of the city in hopes of finding a cure for the plague after informing sergeant Laramie Haiam about their excursion.

After searching for several hours, they would finally locate a small grove, where they found a deer-like creature with scales covering it's front half. After speaking with it using a spell, they were able to take the flower. There were multiple buds as part of the flower, however only in the buds with purple edging around the connecting petals had a seed within. Chancer Fate grabbed two buds, one with a seed and one without.

As she was grabbing the flower buds, however, Dewglow noticed a little rabbit-like creature just after the deer analog ran away suddenly. She tried to speak with it, but it just stared at her. After a few more moments, she had spotted another as it was nibbling on a little nut. A little freaked out, the two decided to get out of there as quickly as possible without alarming the rabbit analogs. After they had turned around, they had tried to ignore the third one to appear.

However, it was not to be so simple as the two then had to run for their lives as Dewglow barely heard one of the rabbit analogs speak to the other.

They ran from the three, whom had rather quickly caught up to them. After a small chase, they were able to kill the three rabbit analogs. Dewglow would grab one of the corpses, then, and took it with her.

After they returned home, they split up; Chancer Fate went to see the doctor while Dewglow went to report the incident to Laramie Haiam.

Meanwhile, later that night, Dreadcrusher and Heinrich Von Kleist travelled out to a mass graveyard. The necromancer raised two ghouls, one of which he sent off from the city to scout the surrounding lands. The three then made their way to the boat on the shore, the one that Dreadcrusher had secured for the night. Once there Dreadcrusher and the ghoul Samuel von von Kleist went to the ship. After getting on board, having left the ghoul in the rowboat, Dreadcrusher spoke with the captain of the sickly ship. He then went below decks, ignoring the sick and suffering, where he finally found Principia Torq. After extracting her from the ship, he had Samuel von von Kleist get on the ship, where he then left. After getting back, him and Heinrich Von Kleist took the sick woman into a tent, purchased from Mord, as the warforged elected to forego the house he had found the previous day. They did their best to heal and disinfect the woman as best they could. They then disinfected themselves.
