Issue 3: Paychecks & Power-Levels
General Summary
Our heroes head to PRT headquarters to collect their bounty, carrying the frozen Astaroth and his similarly frozen brother Magehand in the back of a wagon. Abe used his power to warp and stretch the ground to propel the wagon like a conveyor belt; whose slightly-above-tractor-speed felt painfully slow to Johnny but was a heart pounding thrill-ride for Abe. Along the way, they passed by several known members of Empire Eighty Eight, a group of super-villain white supremacists with a depressingly large number of members. Tempted as they were to bring them in too, the party opted to keep their heads down and turn in their bounty before Astaroth manages to break free. The party arrives at PRT HQ and turns in their bounty to the adorable teenage intern and future super-hero hopeful Kenzie, gaining a reward of $10,000! Cha-Ching! In the lobby, the party is approached by Prodigy and Perspective; the top superhero trainers in the country. Their daughter was one of Astaroth's victims, so they offer the party a free training session to thank the party for bringing their daughter to justice. Prodigy has the power to instantly learn how to do anything he put his mind to, as if he had been practicing for years. Perspective's has the ability to body-swap people, allowing Prodigy to take their body for a ride and see how it's powers work. This combination makes for an extremely informative training session, and each of the party members learned a new way to use their powers. Abe learned how to control not just the top layer of the ground but the ones below it. This allows him to smash squares of underground terrain together, pushing jutting obstacles like walls or spikes out of the ground. Ultimate Donny learned how to better utilize his giant leg muscles; gaining the ability to move in quick ten-foot hops that are too fast to provoke attacks of opportunity. Johhny Fire learned how to suppress his flame aura, allowing him to interact with objects or people without damaging them while in his fire-form. Bobby Ice learned to make an ice-clone; a humanoid shaped block of ice that Bobby controls. It's too slow to attack, but it can grapple people and is a great distraction. After their training session, the party tells Kenzie about the disturbing prophecy they discovered. After making a phone call, Kenzie informs our heroes that Chevalier - chiseled blond beefcake and leader of the Protectorate - would like to speak with them.
