Issue 10: Level Up!

General Summary

After something of a standoff between Abe and the design team, the New Protectorate eventually selected their new uniforms - including special bonus functions that are worthy of a superhero.   With the (needlessly complicated) costume session behind them, our heroes have completed today's itinerary and are excused for the night. Before going to bed, they decide to stop by the lounge and review the information they uncovered today.   As they debriefed, they noticed a computer. Johnny took a moment to reflect on Director Piggot secretive and deceptive nature; and he decided to get some answers straight from the source. After all, there was nobody around; and Johnny loves trouble.   After digging around in the PRT database, the New Protectorate stumbled upon receipts from a company called CAULDRON - who the PRT has paid out millions of dollars to over the years. By cross-referencing the dates of the transactions with the debut of new superheroes; they were able to deduce that CAULDRON is the manufacturer of the formula - and the PRT has been buying it up like amazon stock.   It was surprising enough to learn that many of the mainstream superhero teams got their powers from a bottle; but the biggest shock of all was that all three members of the Triumvirate - the original super hero team - ingested the formula.   This was a big deal. The Triumvirate are the cornerstone of the human-parahuman relations that the PRT is founded on. They are symbols of the cooperation between the two branches of humanity; as well as the icons that the entire superhero ideal is founded on.   But it was all a lie. These receipts clearly show that the PRT didn't achieve compromise and understanding between humans and parahumans; they just created their own spokesmen for the parahuman community instead. It was obvious that these manufactured capes - who have PRT property literally pumping through their veins - were in the PRT's pocket in exchange for fame and superpowers.   Moments after making this revelation, Legend - who Dragon had summoned earlier that day - finally arrived. The party told him about the warning from the future and the subsequent impending doom, and Legend pledged his aid.   If the PRT says it's okay, of course.   With all that out of the way, the party was finally ready for a well-deserved long rest. As they slept, they reached level 5 and unlocked exciting new applications of their powers! Yee-haw!   In the morning, they met with another of PRT's training coaches - a Stranger class cape named Sensei. Sensei's power was unusual: he projects an aura that allow people to memorize advanced techniques and develop the associated muscle memory just from seeing them once.   He explained to the party that they will not always be able to count on their powers, so it's important to be trained in functioning effectively without them. To that end, the PRT mandates basic weapons training. Luckily for our time-crunched heroes, training with Sensei is a very brief affair. Before their continental breakfast had digested, they were already done.   With their orientation completed, the party decided that it's time to go talk to Tattletale and turn everything they've learned into plan.
