Mini 9: The Cells Report
General Summary
4th of Keltier 1524 Continued
While attempting to get into the town, Balthazar does not convince the goblins he is the god and they attack him, quickly bringing him down. The Stealth team has slightly more success with getting up to the wall and taking out a small group of goblins before assaulting the gatehouse when they realise something has gone wrong for Balthazar. The goblin lackies aren't too challenging, but one of them is a magic user and is proving to make this fight far more challenging for them as Balthazar is slowly being dragged deeper into the city. Each party member is beaten into unconsciousness at 9am.The party wakes up later, not sure of the time. They're all in the same cell, shackled to the wall with no light source. Over time they slowly start to work themselves free, taking time to try and rest and recover from their beating. Over time most of the party gets free and tries to get some sleep. Galanith, needing less then the rest, gets her full long rest in. She moves to listen at the door while the group rests. She can hear there is a presence outside the door but they are not directly outside the door and are moving around on patrol. Galanith notifies the group of this.
5th of Keltier 1524
As Nobu and Isabelle approach the end of their long rest, Galanith hears the patrol approach and it sounds different to normal. Galanith rushes back to her spot and pretends to be manacled in place. A goblin comes in, banging a water bucket three times to wake them before giving them some water. The group pretends to still be completely captured and this is successful. He leaves and relocks the door without issue. Nobu and Isabelle complete their long rest. A few hours later the guard returns to stuff a moldy bread roll in their mouth. They realise Galanith is free and he freaks out. He is able to call for help. Isabelle calls for Kaida as the fight kicks off. They all gang up on the goblin, easily taking him out. Two goblins come to investigate and help their friend as the group slowly starts to make it's way out of the cell and down the hallway to the first watch location. From the first group of altered goblins, another calls for help when he is the last one standing. Their current kill count is 2 goblins, as three more Goblins are alerted. The group however, as they start to pick up the goblin's weapons and fight with their best effects are quick to kills the Goblins. When their kill count is at 5, three more are alerted to join the fight, coming from an area upstairs somewhere. Nobu checks out some doors for a slight downstairs area but all the doors are locked. As they continue to hold the location, goblins coming down the stairs. Balthazar gets some keys off the dead goblins and opens a door to find a lot of towns folk chained up. These are the guard that have been captured. Meanwhile Nobu runs up the stairs to find the rest area for the guards. He does some damage before retreating back to the main group. With the group all together on the lower level, they slowly release all the captured towns folk. Each of the party members take charge of 4-5 of them, arming them with what they have taken off the goblins. Some of the goblins have been properly searched, but some have not. Eventually, they make their way up to the top area and clear it. They have yet to find the Warden that Nobu had been fighting, but does stop a Goblin that was raiding their own gear trying to make a run for it. The group search the area and finds potions and gold, and other treasures. There are two unknown areas. One is up stairs and one is behind a locked door. The freed guards tell them about at the top of the stairs there is caged area that would prevent them from running free. Normally great from their perspective of stopping a jail break, but now the shoe is on the other foot and it will make their escape difficult. On that level there is a barracks and common space for the guards to rest in large numbers. Outside is a large walled in courtyard with animal pens. The towns folk are kept in the courtyard at night with the children kept in the animal pens and stay there when the towns folk is put to work as a threat and leverage. On the tops of the courtyard walls there are archers. There is a tower that is mostly for storage. There are two goblins in charge and are very strong. A druid and a warrior.Rewards Granted
