Session 7: Dark Tides
General Summary
Aden discusses with the group about the mysterious killings occuring in the dockward and the group decides the head out the following night to observe and see if they can find the assasin. Deciding to stake out the Skeward Dragon they eventually see a very drunk elf stumbling out of the bar. The group follows at a distance to not be to obvious. The elf is accosted by a dark figure. The group jumps into action, when they see the figure weilding a knife stabs the male elf. Aden charges the figure to try to stop the attack. The assailant noticing them charging at him is able to injure a few of the group but recognizing that they are outnumbered runs, the area around them becomes so dark they cannot see and the attacker gets away! Detalosi is able to heal the elf. Feng happens to notice that this attacker is very similar to the drow he noticed with is brother before he disappeared. Back at the TrollSkull Tavern the adventurers discover this revelation. Feng tells the group that he might have an idea where to find more information about this drow. The adventurers head back to the Skewered Dragon. Feng Bribes the barkeeper for more information about the drow. The barkeep eventually signals to them that there is a sceret passageway behind the cistern. This passageway leads to a large cavern where they find a large colony of goblins, orcs and other outsiders of the city have set up a blackmarket. Feng approaches the group, deciding to befriend an older female orc artisan, he bus a small trinket from her. Once she is at ease he asks her about the community and provides infromation. "The Eyeball people run a gladiatorial ring that sometimes includes fresh catches from remote regions." This perks up Gnosh and Lily. Perhaps they might have seen Francis! Fizzy plays music for the kids whilst distributing alms. Aden turns into a Drow and tries to tail a suspiscious Kenku. Upon investigation, the Kenku is talking to a second Kenku and a Human. The human retreats down a further tunnel that leads away. Upon investigation, some of the party follows the Kenku through a series of natural and artificial caves that connect to an underground river. A jetty with a skiff tied off has more of the mysterious boxes loaded, and the Human is directing the Kenku to unload the boxes. Something larger than the Kenku is moving in the distance. Det hits the Human over the head. The party proceeds to pummel the guy. A mysterious Drow, previously seen at the Docks, appears at the end of the cavern and fires a mechanical weapon. We “kill” the Human, but Det stabilizes him for later questioning. The group exchanges fire with the Drow and the Kenku. After some hijinks, we kill the Drow and rifle his pockets. We find a magical object in his pocket, his odd pistol, and a tattoo written in an unknown language. Lauren can tell its in Drow language, “Bregan D'aerthe". Searching the supply of boxes within the cave and skiff the party gets some money, a potion of healing, and a spell scroll. In the crates: some leather armor, some signet rings (One looks Familiar), some tea, some dried mushrooms, some maps, some architectural drawings, some documents (probably forged).
