Session 43: New Sharandar
General Summary
Session 04 FEB 2019: Laurel thanks us, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, for reminding her of her duty to curb invasive and destructive magics. In the course of conversation, as we share our progress with Laurel, the subject of my dice comes up. So, I tell Laurel the story of how I came to be in this Shard of the Multiverse, and I let her handle them. After a pause, she tells me that they were made by her mother, the Goddess Mystra, and that they manipulate time in a way that is more powerful than even the strongest magical objects. She also says that there is a book that tells of teh dice, and that is likely nearby. Seebo asks about the book, and if it is a red, leather-bound volume. When Laurel says that it is, Fizzy agrees with Seebo that they now have a common goal. WE ask about rebinding the cards, and what materials from the sentient creatures released by the sundered cards we would need: Heart of Ice and Stone, Breath of a Dragon, Ink of the Kraken. We put together that there is, coincidentally, a dragon heating up Mount Hotenow near Neverwinter. Hmmm. During the night, I put together some details from my family history, specifically our tradition of knowing the Celestial language, and couple that with the new knowledge of the dice, and I recall the legend of Sindrakessar, a Celestial mount that we could call upon when needed. In the morning, we set off to Mount Hotenow with our cart, our horses, and now a Celestial saber-toothed tiger named Sindrakessar, upon which I ride majestically! We climb the mountain, fight elementals, and get pummeled by falling rocks and earthquakes. Nest stop: dragon fight!
