2022/09/21: Clearing Malakai's Forge Part 4 Report
General Summary
Knight, Avalon, Blythe, Malakai, Sunderfury, Buzz, Daedalus, Kagri If it wasn't noted last time, the breath weapons from the dracohydra left magical colorful remnants on/in the surface of the mountain. It also partially melted the warehouse. The only remaining area to clear is the three-and-a-half story forge. Some modifications have been made underneath and above, with black metal bits. Entrance is still original brickwork. Front door was horribly trapped. The roof has battlements. There's a trapdoor leading down from the roof. The wall gives off a sense of horrible doom. We got through the door with a dispel and Blythe's sphere of annihilation on the end of a rod. We saw the inside of the room, then someone started fiddling with the lock on the door to the far side of the room. We all hid. The guy who came out was obviously a smith. Very sweaty man who was clearly just forging. One of his arms is monstrous, all clawed and metal and demonic with a bit of crystal for flavor. The arm is sapient and can and does have arguments with him. His little sister Serena is being held hostage by a demon lord. She's being held in the Mountain of Blood. She's about 16. The Mountain of Blood is in Matorvia. Blythe talked to the demonic arm. To redeem it, it needs to be brought to the Mountain of Silver. You have to go through a rite of sanctification, with the forces of evil trying to stop you, and so forth and so on. The demon's name is Rolaf Runeburn. He's an ancestor of Brandolf who made a deal with a demon and then became a demon. The arm can't directly kill Brandolf, but can make his life miserable. Apparently there's a 16-foot-tall "giant bitch from Atrazit" also working for the bad guys. She said something about using the mountain for its original purpose and left to go do something. Malakai's plates of purification and loofas of extreme cleansing are still here. His sim deck and soulforge are absent. The soulforge apparently escaped on its own and is... somewhere. Looking for the lady from Atrazit, we followed Knight's compass and found a path from the second floor of the forge up the side of the mountain. There are little crystals around the path. We started to hear demonic chanting from ahead. The Atrazit lady appears to be a giant succubus or something similar. She's completely naked and is doing some sort of ritual to discover truenames, including Malakai's. She's defended by a wall of force and six stabby iron golems. Then Buzz dumped 30 pounds of antimagic dust on her and annihilated her rituals, defensive spells, and contingencies, and Kagri dug his way from one side of her throat to the other. Knight baited the golems around and Sunderfury went after them on a blade-eating binge. The golems were made entirely from swords. After their destruction, we were left with 18 tons of broken swords. Plus some good magical swords. The forge now seems to be as clear as we can make it. There is apparently a large dungeon under Malakai's mountain. There are no entrances, and the floors don't connect to each other. There may or may not be a fallen god in there. A dark lord guy showed up while invisible, looking over the party. Buzz noticed the extra shadow and cast improved fairy fire, revealing him in all his intimidating glory. He apologized for interrupting and claimed to be Malakai's "landlord". Dulsorth the Destroyer. He says we are currently in his "held territory". If Malakai wants to live there, they probably need to make some arrangement. He doesn't mind us getting rid of the unpleasant previous residents.
