Session 9: Rescue Mission vs Secomber--which has more fangs? Report

General Summary

After dispatching the werewolves in the main tavern room, the party was confronted by the band who pleaded for help. "The Baron" has their families and other villages held captive in dungeons below the tavern and Cedric, the band's drummer, asked the party to free these poor souls. The party, never a group to back down from helping those in need (unless there's a good repeat on the telly), made their way through the lower levels, passed locked iron doors, animated suits of armour, to the grandmotherly figure they first met on the porch of the Dragon's Breath. As she rises from her bed, calling out for the baron she changes into geriatric werewolf. The party slays her without mercy.   This leads to Mitchy, the Baron's gnome assistant. In a nearby room they find Mitchy writing in his diary and by rifling through this and the poor gnome's belongings, the party realises that Mitchy has perhaps turned agains the Baron in his heart, but this might be best tested with actions and not dolls and diaries. With Mitchy in tow, or rather hands tied in the lead, the party continues down to a set of passages and stairs that seem older, colder, and more wet than those above. They battle carrion crawlers, and these large tentacled centipede like creatures paralysed both Garadin and Khusrov before they were destroyed.   Continuing along the hallway, crunching over the bones of the dead, the party sees a door ahead, pale yellow light emerging from the crack around its perimeter.

Rewards Granted

I can't remember how many XP I awarded, but I'm sure you're all good for it.

Notes

Khusrov found a note in desk on he upper level that said:   "Dear Baron, I hope things are going as planned and that our venture continues to be productive C"
