Session 6: Leaving the Misty Forest Report
General Summary
The session began with the party checking their wounds and comrades after the previous battle with Drow and the Doppleganger. Flynn, erstwhile caravan guard and recent prisoner succumbed to wounds inflicted by the Drow priestess' insect plague spell. At his death, Flynn remember that he was taken to a cave at the edge of the forest before he found himself enslaved. Garadin was particularly disturbed by Flynn's death. Emmanuel didn't seem troubled in the least. Scouring the Drow rooms the party found a readable (in common) note Meronal's note in Common and a second document of seeming importance given the embossed spider at the base, but in a language none of them know Meronal's Note. A second chamber contained a pendant matching the one given by Melandrach to Qually and other members of The Originals. As the Doppleganger was disguised as Melandrach, Qually thought the worst. He questioned his Mirror of Mental Prowess, asking "Is Melandrach dead?" The answer came back, yes. The party left the fortress and sought out the caves, and, after a short rest by the trail, entered the caves in the gloaming. Yelling out, Beaufort De Montague drew four Drow from their work moving supplies and battle of swords and crossbows ensued. As the leader was surrounded, dying on the dust in the ground, he gave a warning to the party. That Meronal , leader of the treee fortress, died at their hands matters not, as Drow darkness will pour from the earth of Secomber. He then died next to the great hole from which he most likely emerged.
Rewards Granted
